Hi, Stampers!
We are inching our way closer to the premier of the STAMPIN’ UP! 2021-22 ANNUAL CATALOG ON 4 May 2021! The new catalog truly is amazing! From the terrific stamp sets, to the beautiful new IN COLORS, to the gorgeous Designer Series Papers, I know you are going to love the catalog!
Today’s preview takes a closer look at the PARTY PUFFINS stamp set. This stamp set was included in my 9 April 2021 post. It is a cute birthday set including three adorable puffins, a fish with a bow (the perfect gift for all puffins), candles, a birthday cake, and sentiments appropriate for birthday cards and gift tags.
Here are some cards I made using the set. I featured the two cards on the top row in my 9 April post.
The card below is on a Mango Melody card base. The puffin images were stamped using Memento Tuxedo Black ink and colored with Stampin’ Blends markers. There are no dies for this set, but the images are easy to cut out with paper snips.
This card is quick and easy to make. I stamped the puffins on Basic White cardstock and die cut them with the LAYERING CIRCLES DIES. The die cut images were matted on colorful cardstock circles (Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, and Bermuda Bay). The images were arranged on a Pumpkin Pie card base, and the “Happy Birthday” was stamped with Tuxedo Black in the lower left area of the card base.
This next card employs the reverse stamping technique (see 15 January 2021 for technique instructions) to create a pair of dancing puffins. The confetti is stamped in the new IN COLOR - FRESH FREESIA. The confetti stamp is from the HEY, BIRTHDAY CHICK stamp set currently in the mini catalog (this stamp set and its coordinating dies will carry over to the new annual catalog). The focal panel is matted with Granny Apple Green cardstock, and the entire piece is adhered to a Pool Party card base. Pool Party Sheer Ribbon (carrying over to the new annual catalog) gives the card a bit of shimmer.
This card uses the cake and the candles images from the stamp set to make a fun birthday card for people of any age! The Poppy Parade card base and Basic Black mats add a nice contrast to the Basic White cardstock used for the images. I really like the “make a wish” greeting.
Here is a peek at the inside of the Make a Wish card.
One more card for today - it, like the previous card, has a Poppy Parade card base. Once again, I stamped the puffin on Basic White, colored it with Stampin’ Blends, and cut it out with one of the Layering Circles Dies. The focal piece is matted on a Daffodil Delight circle. The “let’s celebrate you” is stamped in Tuxedo Black. The stamp is from the HEY, BIRTHDAY CHICK stamp set. This card happens to be a pop up card. Let’s take a look at the inside!
All three puffins make an appearance inside this card. As you can see they are all ready to help the card’s recipient celebrate a very happy birthday! The confetti and balloon images are from the HEY BIRTHDAY CHICK stamp set. The gift image is from the KANGAROO & COMPANY stamp set (current mini catalog). To learn how to make the simple pop up card mechanism see the 29 January 2021 post.
Those are all the cards I have to share today. I am looking forward to creating many more cards with the PARTY PUFFINS stamp set!
That is all for today. Until next time...
Stamp Happy!
Kim
