Hi Stampers,
Today’s plan: create cards using the SIP (stamps, inks, & paper) Method. No die cuts, no embossing powders, no embossing folders, no gems, and no ribbons allowed! For my cards I defined inks as ink pads, Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers), and Stampin’ Write Markers (dye based markers). I defined paper as cardstock and patterned paper (DSP).
Does using the SIP Method mean the cards are boring? Certainly not!!! There are so many easy ways to step up SIP cards, and I will share a few things I did to add some zip to SIP! Let’s take a peek at my sample cards
Do you see my “oops” card? I used a die cut piece of cardstock for the focal image on the pizza card!🤦♀️ It should be a piece of cardstock cut with the paper trimmer. The die cut piece was in my scrap box and it was the perfect size for my focal image. After I completed all 3 cards I realized I broke my rule!!! Oh well, the thing I like most about card making is there truly are no rules! So. . . I decided to just roll with it and share the card with you.

ADD SOME ZIP TO YOUR S.I.P. CARDS
I mentioned my definitions of inks and paper for these card, and using my paper trimmer. I also used dimensionals and my paper snips, along with some adhesive (liquid glue, Stampin’ Seal, etc).
For the card below I added multiple pizza and pizza slice images to the cards. They are adhere to the card with dimensionals adding more interest than just adhering the images flat on the card base. Also, note the placement. I did not center the focal panel. Balance is provided by adding the pizza slices and centering the greeting.

USING PLACEMENT AND DIMENSION
For this card I stamped some of the images directly onto the cardstock panel and colored them with Stampin’ Blends. Other images I stamped on scrap cardstock, colored them, then fussy cut them, and added them to the card with glue or dimensionals. Adhering a fussy cut image directly to the cardstock gives the image a tiny bit of lift and adds dimension. (Black and yellow bars over and under the “birthday zone.”) Placing images diagonally behind and/or in front of other images gives the perception of depth to the overall scene. (Cones) Creating different layers of dimension for an image or group of images adds more depth and dimention. (Balloons and gifts)

SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD
* CONSTRUCTION ZONE stamp set
* Card base - Crushed Curry cardstock cut at 8 1/2” x 4 1/4” scored and folded at 4 1/4”
* Mat - Basic Black - 3 1/2” square
* Focal panel - Badic White - 3 1/4” square

* Inks - Memento Tuxedo Black, Pumpkin Pie; Stampin’ Blends - Daffodil Delight (dark) Misty Moonlight (light), Poppy Parade (light), Lemon Lolly (light & dark), Tahitian Tide (light), Pumpkin Pie (light), Fresh Freesia( light), Azure Afternoon (light), Granny Apple Green (light), Cakypso Coral (light)
* Small strip of scrap cardstock (I used Basic White)
* Adhesive and dimensionals
ASSEMBLY
* On scrap Basic White cardstock using Tuxedo Black ink, stamp the striped bar image twice, the gift 6 times, and the set of balloons once. Use Pumpkin Pie ink and stamp two of the cone images. Use Stampin’ Blends to color in the two striped bar images, three of the gifts, and the balloons.
* Fussy cut the images. It is okay to cut the bows off the three gifts that are not colored. These will be used later to build dimension.
* On the focal panel using the black ink, stamp the greeting in the center about 1” or so from the top. Next stamp fork lift image toward the bottom of the panel a bit more to the right than the left. Stamp the worker behind and slightly above the bottom of the forklift. Color the images.
* Mat the focal panel to the Basic Black mat.
* Adhere the striped bars - one above and one below the greeting.
* Use glue to adhere a cone to the right side and a bit above the worker’s feet. Cut a small strip from the side of the dimensionals sheet. Place it on the back of the other cone and adhere to the card panel in front of and to the left of the worker.
* Place a dimensional on the back of the balloons image, and remove backing. Put a dot of glue on the string end of the balloons image.Place the balloons on the card front, push the string end down over the worker’s hand. It might be necessary to hold it down a few seconds, or Place an acrylic block over it for a few moments until the glue bonds to the cardstock.
* Decide which gift will be on the bottom of the pile. Place a dimensional on the back of it, and place it on the card right above the fork portion of the fork lift.
* Glue the 3 uncolored gifts together in a stack. Adhere them to the card above and slightly behind the bottom gift.
* For the final gift adhere it with glue directly to the card base. I did not put glue on the bow. I gently pushed it forward to give it a little dimension.
* Adhere the panel to the card base.
LAYERING & ADDING PERSONAL TOUCHES
Sometimes it is the little things that make the biggest impact. This card is super simple, but the colorful layers really catch the eye. The handwritten titles on the books add a bit of a personal touch, especially if the titles are favorites of the recipient.
