Welcome to another addition of Tinsel Time Tuesday. October is here already! I have about half the cards I need for this Holiday Season. I hope your stash of cards is growing, as well. When the Holidays arrive the cards will be ready to go! No card making stress - that is the goal!
Every year I create a card using white and gold. I love the look of gold on white. The look is simple, yet elegant. It is a classic combination for Christmas. This year I chose to use the GREAT TIDINGS BUNDLE for the card. (Stampin’ Up!®️ July - December 2021 Mini Catalog) This bundle includes the GREAT TIDINGS stamp set and the WISE MEN TIDINGS DIES. Now, let’s take a look at the card!
SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARDS
* Basic White (thick) cardbase - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”.
* Basic White cardstock 5 1/2” x 2 3/4” for focal panel background, and a piece about the same size for embossing and die cut the wise men.
* Brushed Metallic cardstock - gold - two pieces cut at 5 1/2” x 1/2”. (You can substitute gold foil.)
* Versa Mark and gold embossing powder.
* Time Worn Type 3-D Embossing Folder - or embossing folder of your choice.
* Adhesive of choice and dimensionals.
* Embossing Buddy / antistatic tool, or fabric softener sheet $ rub over cardstock before stamping Versa Mark and embossing.
ASSEMBLY
* Use the embossing folder to emboss the 5 1/2” x 2 3/4” piece of Basic White.
* Adhere the Brushed Metallic cardstock along the top and along the bottom of the emboss piece. Allow about 3/8” showing.
* Place the focal panel about 3/8” from the top of the page to help you visualize where to stamp the greeting. Use the Versa Mark to ink the greeting stamp. Stamp the greeting. Place the focal panel aside. Heat set the greeting.
* Use Versa Mark to stamp the wise men images on the remaining piece of Basic White cardstock. Sprinkle with gold embossing powder, and heat set. Die cut the images.
* Adhere the background panel to the card . Use dimensionals to adhere the wise men to the background panel. Check my sample card for placement.
NOTE - Add a sentiment of choice inside the card. I used Crumb Cake ink for inside my card. When used inside the card with gold on the outside of the card, our eyes (actually our brains) interpret it as a gold color. It is the same with silver and Smoky Slate.
