Hi Stampers!
In my last post I shared cards I made using scraps of Designer Series Paper (DSP). Today’s card design truly helps all those pretty scraps of designer paper disappear! Well…. actually the design transforms the scraps into beautiful cards you will love sending to friends and family.
I love quilts and many of my friends and family members quilt or quilted by hand and by machine. The focal panels for today’s cards are made with a design borrowed from quilting. The design is called Disappearing Nine Patch. Page down to view my video tutorial for this design.
I saw this idea on Splitcoaststampers in a tutorial by Betty Traciak. Near the end of this post is a link to her tutorial.
Here is a look at my cards.
The basic pieces needed to create the Disappearing Nine Patch Card are:
* Card base - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” or 11” x 4 1/4” scored and folded at 5 1/2”.
* Nine 1” x 1” pieces of DSP - several different patterns, three or four patterns work well. On the Christmas Cheer card I used 8 designs.
* A 3” x 3” piece of DSP, any design - it will not be visible on the card.
* Adhesive Sheets - a 3” x 3” piece.
* Coordinating cardstock cut at 3 1/4” x 3 1/4” for mat.
* Another piece of coordinating cardstock cut at 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” for another mat.
* Coordinating ink to stamp greeting.
* Greeting of choice.
* Embellishments of choice if desired.
NOTE: Once I adhered my nine 1” squares to the scrap piece of DSP, I embossed the piece with an embossing folder to add some texture.

SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD
* Basic White card base.
* Nine 1” x 1” squares from the Heartwarming Hugs DSP.
* Tasteful Textiles 3-D embossing folder.
* Granny Apple Green 3 1/4” x 3 1/4” mat.
* Real Red 3 1/2” x 3 1/2” mat.
* Real Red ink.
* Greeting from PERFECTLY PLAID stamp set.
* Adhesive.
WHIMSICAL HOLLY CARD
* Basic White card base, plus a scrap of Basic White for stamping.
* Nine 1” squares from the Whimsy & Wonder DSP and the 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper- 2021-2023 In Color - Polished Pink.
* Timeworn Type 3-D embossing folder.
* Polished Pink cardstock, 3 1/4” square for mat.
* Mossy Meadow cardstock 3 1/2” square for mat.
* Mossy Meadow ink; Stampin’ Blends - Mossy Meadow (light) and Polished Pink (light).
* Stamp Set - WONDERFUL TREES for holly images (three) and PERFECTLY PLAID for greeting.
* Christmas Trees Dies.
* Adhesive and dimensionals for holly images.
TIDINGS OF A MERRY CHRISTMAS CARD
* Crumb Cake card base plus a scrap of Crumb Cake.
* Nine 1” squares cut from the Tidings of Christmas DSP and 6” x 6” Designer Series Paper - Neutrals - Sahara Sand.
* Tasteful Textiles 3-D embossing folder.
* Cherry Cobbler cardstock 3 1/4” square for mat, plus scrap to mat greeting.
* Evening Evergreen cardstock 3 1/2” square, plus scrap to mat greeting.
* Stitched Rectangles Dies to die cut greeting.
* Evening Evergreen sheer ribbon - about 16” inches.
* Evening Evergreen ink.
* Greeting - PERFECTLY PLAID.
* Adhesive and dimensionals (for greeting).
NOTE: The cutting dimensions needed for the cardstock for the greeting and its mats will depend on the greeting you use.
PERFECTLY PLAID CHRISTMAS TREE CARD
SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD
* Sahara Sand card base.
* Nine 1” squares from Peaceful Prints DSP (from Aug - Sept DSP, now retired) and 6” x 6” DSP - Neutrals - Sahara Sand.
* Timber 3-D embossing folder.
* Sahara Sand cardstock 3 1/4” square for mat.
* Garden Green cardstock 3 1/2” square for mat, and a scrap to punch out tree image.
* Garden Green ink.
* PERFECTLY PLAID (tree image) and SNOWMAN SEASON (greeting).
* Pine Tree Punch.
* Linen Thread - wrap around matted piece 4 times adhere this in place on back of piece. Double a piece of the thread and slip it under the wrapped thread. Tie in a bow. Trim ends.
* Adhesive and dimensionals (for tree image).
FOR UNTO US CARD
SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD
* Sahara Sand card base.
* Nine 1” squares cut from the Peaceful Prints DSP (retired).
* Sahara Sand 3 1/4” square for mat.
* Real Red 3 1/2” square for mat.
* Real Red ink.
* FOR UNTO US stamp set for greeting stamp multiple times along the left side of the card front.
* Real Red Sheer Ribbon - about 14”.
* Adhesive and dimensionals (for focal piece).

BONUS CARD
This is the card made with the focal piece I put together in the video.

* Sahara Sand card base.
* Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/4” x 4”, embossed with the Timber 3-D embossing folder.
* Nine 1” squares from the Peaceful Prints DSP (retired)
* Sahara Sand cardstock 3 1/4” square for mat, and scrap for greeting.
* Real Red cardstock 3 1/2” square for mat, and scrap for greeting.
* Real Red ink.
* Picture This Dies - rectangle (I used this die to die cut the greeting piece.
* PERFECTLY PLAID stamp set for greeting.
* Wonderful Gems - 3, Real Red.
* Adhesive and dimensionals (for greeting).
NOTE: The cutting dimensions for the greeting and mats will vary based on the greeting you choose.
