MAKE IT A ROCKIN’ CHRISTMAS FEATURING THE ROCKING HORSE BUNDLE - A STAMP HAPPY HOLIDAYS POST

Hi Stampers,

Here we are at week three of Stamp Happy Holidays for 2023! Today I have two cards to share created using the Rocking Horse Bundle from the current Stampin’ Up!®️ Mini Catalog. The rocking horses on these cards do rock. I used a technique I call the “rocking image” technique. You can use this technique to make most any die cut or punched image “rock.”Let’s look at the cards:

* Other cardstock - Very Vanilla - 2 pieces, each cut at 5 1/4” x 4” (one for the inside panel and one to use as backing for the DSP background panel; Very Vanilla cardstock for images and greeting; Mossy Meadow cardstock for tree image and to mat greeting.
* DSP - All About Autumn - Moody Mauve with gold foil; 5 1/4” x 4”
* Inks - Early Espresso, Moody Mauve, Versa Mark; Stampin’ Blends - Moody Mauve (light & dark), Mossy Meadow (light & dark), Petal Ponk (light & dark), Crumb Cake (light & dark), Pecan Pie (light & dark), Smoky Slate (light), Daffodil Delight (dark); Embossing Powder - gold
* Embellishments - Festive Pearls - Gold 10-12; Round & Square Brads - 1, square (6.4mm) I used white, but the color does not matter as it will be covere+ up.
* Dimentionals, Foam Adhesive Strips, or Foam Adhesive sheets
* Adhesive & glue dots

ASSEMBLY NOTES
* Adhere the DSP to one of the pieces of Very Vanilla cardstock.
* Stamp (with Early Espresso) and color the rocking horse and gifts images - stamp the ornaments (3 times), and stamp greeting of choice on the inside panel using Moody Mauve ink.
* Using the trees detail image, ink it with Versa Mark and stamp on Mossy Meadow cardstock, cover with gold embossing powder, and heat set. Do the same on Very Vanilla cardstock for the the greeting.
* Die cut the ornaments, gifts, rocking horse and tree (use largest tree die). On Mossy Meadow cardstock die cut another tree shape, and die cut another rocking horse shape from Very Vanilla cardstock.
* Attach the tree die cut to the back side of the embossed tree die cit. Adhere the ornaments onto the tree with. glue dots. Adhere the tree to the left side of the focal panel.
* Put the brad through the center of the blank rocking horse die cut. This would be about where the saddle would be and about 1/4” below the outer edge of the rocking horse. Use a piercing tool and piercing mat to make the hole. Slip the brad through the hole. Use the stamped horse image to get an idea where the hole for the brad should go on the DSP. Use a piercing tool and mat to make the hole.
* With the brad through the hole of the unstamped rocking horse image, push the brad through the hole pierced through the DSP. Spread out the prongs of the brad. Do not flatten them all the way down. Place the point of a paper piercer under the brad toward the center and push down the ends. Remove the piercing tool.
* Apply dimensionals liberally to the back side of the stamped rocking horse and line it up with the matching die cut. Test to make sure the horse moves back & forth (rocks).
* Mat greeting on Mossy Meadow cardstock. I embossed my greeting and trimmed around it. I trimmed the mat to fit with a 1/8” border all around. Use adhesive to adhere greeting to card front.
* Use dimentionals to attach the gifts image.
* Place Festive Pearls on tree and greeting.
* Use dimentionals, foam strips or foam sheets to adhere focal panel to front of card base.
* Adhere inside panel.
