Hi Stampers!
Today I am sharing a fun fold called a PUZZLE card, or a PUZZLE SLIDER card. This is an interesting fold, but it is not my favorite. What? I am sharing a fun fold that I am not fond of! Why am I doing this?
I think it is important to give card folds I am not fond of another try from time to time. Sometime the fold starts to grow on me. Other times I find a way to create a card with a similar look, but modified or simplified in some way to make it more to my liking. So, I am sharing some PUZZLE cards I created, and then I will share a FAUX PUZZLE card I created. You can decide which is for you. Let’s look at the sample cards:

WHY THIS FUN FOLD IS NOT MY FAVORITE
This card is not my favorite. First, it requires a lot of cutting, and I have to remain very alert so as not to cut my directional patterned paper the wrong way! I have found it necessary to trim some of the panels to make them fit just so. No matter how much I use my bone folder, the creases act more like a spring and will not allow the card to fold flat or close all the way. The card is a bit on the thick side, and is difficult to get inside an A2 envelope. It is possible, but can be quite the struggle.
I have discovered I can overcome the issues with the card being thicker and not staying closed. I put the cards under a couple of heavy books for a couple of days. That helps. However those issue that bother me about the card were lessened by changing the card base just a bit. I dubbed this my FAUX PUZZLE CARD. You can read about it below.
FAUX PUZZLE CARDS
A slight adjustment to the card base makes the card easier to keep closed. This version of the PUZZLE card is also a bit thinner than the original, making it easier to mail. Let’s take a look:
