Hi Stampers!
Today I am sharing cards I made using “larger scraps” of Designer Series Paper. I have a stack of DSP leftover pieces that are about 2” - 4” wide by 6” long. I decided it was time for these scraps to move from the scrap bin to a permanent home on cards!
For today’s cards I used the FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS stamp set and the coordinating SAND & SEA DSP. Both of these items are featured on the STAMPIN’ UP!®️ JANUARY - JUNE 2021 MINI CATALOG. The stamp set is carrying over to the STAMPIN’ UP! 2021 - 2022 ANNUAL CATLOG, which premieres this coming Tuesday (4 May 2021). As for the DSP...... it will retire once the current mini catalog retires at the end of June.
FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS
Here are the cards I created using the stamp set and pieces of the pretty Sand & Sea DSP!
BLUSHING BRIDE & SEASHELLS
* Card Base - Blushing Bride 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”
* DSP - Sand & Sea 5 1/2” x 2 1/4” matted on a piece of Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/2” x 2 1/2”
* For the Shells & Mats - 1 piece of Blushing Bride cardstock & 1piece of Basic White cardstock each cut at 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”
* Dies - Seaside Seashells Dies, Layering Circle Dies
* Ink - Sahara Sand
* Other - Seashells 3-D Embossing Folder, Paper Snips, Blending Brush or Sponge Dauber, Dimensionals, Adhesive of Choice
TO ASSEMBLE THE CARD
* For The Shells: Using the 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and the Seaside Seashells Dies largest die, die cut the image. Stamp the shell details on each die cut shell using Sahara Sand ink. Place the die cut piece inside the Seashells embossing Folder, and run it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss machine (die cut machine). Using the paper snips or scissors of your choice, snip the shells from the die cut.
* Mats For the Shell: Using the blending brush or sponge dauber, apply Sahara Sand ink over a poertion of one half of the 5 1/2” x 4 1/4” piece of Basic White cardstock. This area will be cut with a layering circle die. The unlinked side of the cardstock will be cut with another (larger) Layering Circle Die.
* Stamp the greeting toward the top and center of the piece of DSP using Sahara Sand ink.
* Adhere the DSP to the Basic White cardstock mat. Adhere this piece to the card base toward the left side of the card (leave 1/2” - 3/4” cardstock showing on the left side.
* Arrange and adhere the shells on the inked circle with dimensionals & and adhere this piece to the Basic White circle. Adhere this focal piece to the card with dimensionals.
SO SAFFRON SAND & SEASHELLS
* Card Base - So Saffron 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 14”
* DSP - Sand & Sea 5” x 3 3/4” matted on a piece of 5 1/4” x 4” piece of Seaside Spray cardstock*
* Greeting - scraps of Basic White, Seaside Spray, and So Saffron cardstock
* Ink - So Saffron
* Other - Layering Circles Dies, Dimensionals, and adhesive of your choice
TO ASSEMBLE THE CARD:
* On the scrap of Basic White cardstock stamp the greeting with So Saffron ink.
* Using the Layering Circle Dies (scalloped circle for the Seaside Spray layer), cut out the greeting and the Seaside Spray mat, and the So Saffron mat.
* Adhere the card layers together. Adhere the greeting layers together. Attach the greeting to the card with deminsionals.
* Note - Seaside Spray Cardstock is retiring. As of today the cardstock is only available in the 2019-2021 In Color Assortment Cardstock Pack (8 1/2” x 11”).
SAHARA SAND WITH SAND & SEA
* Card Base - Sahara Sand 4 1/4” x 11” scored and folded at 5 1/2”
* DSP - Sand & Sea 5 1/2” x 3”
* Ink - Sahara Sand
* Other - Linen Thread, Adhesive of your choice
TO ASSEMBLE THE CARD:
* Stamp the greeting and shell images on the DSP (some shells are second generation - stamp full strength, then stamp again).
* Use the “sand” stamp and Sahara Sand ink to stamp along the top and bottom of the cardstock.
* Adhere the DSP to the card base leaving slightly less cardstock space at the top of the card than at the bottom.
* Wrap the Linen Thread around the card base several times and tie it in a bow. Trim the ends.
SEASIDE SPRAY SAND & SEA
*Card Base: 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”
*DSP - 5 1/2” x 3”
*Ink: Sahara Sand
*Other - Ribbon - Seaside Spray Metallic* about 16 inches, Adhesive of your choice
* Greeting is from Hand-Penned Petals
TO ASSEMBLE THE CARD:
* Using the Sahara Sand ink stamp the greeting repeatedly down the right hand side of the card.
* Adhere the DSP to the left hand side of the card base.
* Wrap the ribbon around the the card base and tie it in a bow. Trim the ends.
* Note - the Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon is retiring. As of today the ribbon is still available for order.
