Hi Stampers!
Over the past few months I have been making a lot of cards, and you know what that mean….. I have a pile of scraps!!! I have paper scraps and cardstock scraps. So… time to use up those scraps!!! I have several go to layouts for cards that use scraps, but my very favorite is the Three Panel Card. It is a versatile layout that uses long or short strips of designer series paper (DSP) matted on cardstock. No matter the the strips, long or short; you can orient the card anyway you like (landscape or portrait). Let’s take a look at the cards!
LONG STRIP CARDS
SHORT STRIP CARDS
Believe it or not, I made these twelve cards from start to finish in just under two hours! Yes, that includes choosing papers and cardstock, cutting, scoring, and folding the card bases, cutting the strips and the the cardstock mats, die cutting, punching, fussy cutting, stamping, and assembly! I used scraps and ended up with 12 cards in two hours! I love that! I also took the opportunity to use up some of the ribbon and embellishments that I have been “collecting” for a while, but I also used current items.
Here are the measurements for both the long strip and short strip cards:
* For all cards I cut Basic White cardstock for inside panel - 5” x 3 3/4” or 5” 1/4” x 4”
LONG STRIP THREE PANEL CARD
* A-2 card base cut at 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” OR 11” x 4 1/4” s orde and folded at 5 1/2”
* Three strips of DSP cut at 1” x 4 7/8”
* Three strips of coordinating cardstock cut at 1 1/8” x 5”
SHORT STRIP THREE PANEL CARD
* A-2 card base (se measurements above)
* Three strips of DSP cut at 1 1/4” x 3 3/4”
* Three strips of coordinating cardstock cut at 1 3/8” x 3 7/8”
Adhere the DSP strips to the cardstock mats, then adhere to the front of the card base at equal intervals centering from top to bottom and side to side as best you can. The card is now ready for a focal panel and greeting.

For the deer images- I cut around the image and adhered to a scrap of Basic White cardstock. This made the image sturdier. I fussy cut the image and adhered it to the card with dimensionals.
THREE PANEL CARDS
I hope this encourages you to put your scraps to use, and to use some items (like ribbon or embellishments) you have had for a year or two, or three!
That’s all for today. Thanks for stopping by. Until next time…
Stamp Happy!
