Hi Stampers!
Today we will take an “In Detail” look at the Beauty of the Deep bundle. This is an ocean themed bundle. As always you can purchase the stamp set and dies separately, or purchase as a bundle for a 10% savings. Let’s take a look at the cards I created using the bundle:

IN DETAIL
BEAUTY OF THE DEEP IN MISTY MOONLIGHT
(To see my inspiration for this card see page 112 of the Stampin’ Up! 2023-24 Annual Catalog.)
These cards are my versions of a card found on page 112 of the STAMPIN’ UP! 2023-2024 ANNUAL CATALOG. The Stampin’ Up! card base is 6” x 3 1/2” as is my card on the right (cut cardstock 6” x 7” and score at 3 1/2” on the 7” side). I call this size a mini slimline card. It fits inside a regular envelope used to mail a letter. The card on the left is a regular A-2 card, meaning the card base (front of the card) measures 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. This size card fits inside an A-2 envelope (invitation envelope / Stampin’ Up! medium envelope). As for my versions of the card, the only differences between the cards are the size of the card bases and the placement of the greetings and pearls.
SUPPLIES FOR THESE CARDS
* Beauty of the Deep stamp set & Pansy Patch stamp set (greeting)
* Card base - Misty Moonlight cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” along the 8 1/2” side for A-2 card, OR 7” x 6” scored and folded at 3 1/2” along the 7” side for mini slimline card
* Inside panel - Basic White cardstock cut at 5” x 3 3/4” (for A-2 card) or 5 3/4” x 3 1/4” for slimline card
* Greeting - Basic White cardstock
* Inks - Misty Moonlight, White Craft Stampin’ Ink (refill and pad)
NOTE - if you do not have the white craft ink you can achieve a similar look by embossing the image using Versa mark and white embossing powder. As this image is very detailed, be sure to use an embossing Buddy or other anti-static product to ensure the embossing powder goes only where you want it to go.
* Dies - Stylish Shapes Dies, circles, 3rd largest
* Embellishments - Simply Elegant Trim, silver, about 20” and Festive Pearls, silver, 5
* Adhesive and dimensionals for greeting - I also used a piece of cellophane tape across the back side of the greeting to hold the silver trim in place.
NOTE - For the background, first stamp the small sea plant image with the Misty Moonlight ink, then stamp the large coral image with the white craft ink. The craft ink is a pigment ink, and takes longer to dry than the dye inks in the Classic Stampin’ Pads. A heat tool can be used to speed up the drying time for the pigment ink.

* Other cardstock for stamping and die cutting - small pieces of Basic White, Calypso Coral, and Lemon Lolly

DIE CUTTING TIP FOR FISH
(Moorish Idol)
x-ray vision! Simply line up the die and if you can see ink through the holes the fine is lined up properly! The result will be a die cut fish like the one on the right!
* Beauty of the Deep Bundle and On the Ocean stamp set (sentiment)
* Card base - Lost Lagoon cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”
* Mat - Basic Black cardstock cut at 5 1/4” x 4”
* Focal panel and inside panel - Basic White 5” x 3 3/4” (cut 2)
* Basic White cardstock for stamping and die cutting
* Inks - Lost Lagoon, Basic Gray, Memento Tuxedo Black, Calypso Coral, Bkackberry Bliss Pebbled Path
* Blending brush
* Adhesive and dimensionals
NOTE - Use blending brush and Lost Lagoon ink to at color to the Basic White cardstock for background panel and Basic White cardstock for stamping and die cutting. The no coverage does not need to be heavy, just enough to take the tame the starkness of the white cardstock.
I added just a touch of Lost Lagoon ink to the Basic White cardstock before stamping images and die cutting them. This helps the die cuts blend in better with the background piece. This technique works best with a light ink background and darker ink colors for images.
BEAUTY OF THE DEEP BIRTHDAY
* Beauty of the Deep Bundle and Waves of the Ocean stamp set (sentiment)
* Card base - Lemon Lolly cardstock 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”
* Mat - Basic Black cardstock - 5 1/4” x 4”
* Focal and inside panels - Basic White cardstock 5” x 3 3/4” (cut two)
* Cardstock for die cuts - Lemon Lolly
* Inks - Lost Lagoon, Pool Party, Soft Sea Foam, Mossy Meadow, Lemon Lolly, Memento Tuxedo Black
* Blending brush and sponge dauber
* Adhesive and dimensionals
NOTES - I stamped the seaweed first, then used the blending brush to add some color. I started at the bottom with Lost Lagoon, then added Pool Party, and finished with Soft Sea Foam. I used a sponge dauber to add a bit of Lemon Lolly ink to the die cut coral (along the edges and in a few other areas to add depth and dimension.

That’s all for now. Until next time . . .
