SIMPLY ZINNIA BUNDLE AND THREE EASY TO MAKE CARDS - IN DETAIL

Hi Stampers!

Spring is here, and I am looking forward to gardening! Every year along with our vegetable garden we plant patches of sunflowers, cosmos, and zinnias. I enjoy the all the flowers, but zinnias are my favorite. They are just so colorful! Once again the name of this flower is pronounced differently by different regions. Some of you pronounce the name “ZIN EE UH,” while others pronounce it “ZIN YUH.” Where I live we say “ZEEN YUH.” However one pronounces the name, zinnias are just so joyful and add a pop of color anywhere you find them, even on cards!

* Card base - Lemon Lolly cardstock cut at 11” x 4 1/4” scored and folded at 5 1/2” - use Lemon Lolly ink and single zinnia stamp to stamp random images on card front.

BONUS CARDS - SUPER SIMPLE BIRTHDAY CARDS

If you happen to have the Flowering Zinnias DSP, you have noticed this design, and how the flowers on one side are upside down! This page is designed to allow for the creation of 6 card fronts. Many of Stampin’ Up!’s DSP packs include a page designed for this purpose.

Simply put the paper in the trimmer at 6” (cut between the flowers). Cut each half at 4” and 8”. This will give you six pieces that measure 6” x 4”. For a layer on an A-2 card front trim to 5 1/4”. Where you trim will depend on if you want to stamp the greeting directly on the DSP or and a greeting elsewhere. You can trim the 3/4” evenly from the top and bottom of the DSP, from the bottom only, or from the top only.

CREATE DELICIOUSLY SWEET CARDS WITH THE ICE CREAM SWIRL BUNDLE - AN IN DETAIL POST

Today we are taking a look at the ICE CREAM SWIRL BUNDLE found in the current Stampin’ Up!®️Mini Catalog. This is a die bundle that provides lots of options for creating deliciously sweet cards and other projects. Let’s take a look at my sample projects:

BONUS PROJECT

ICE CREAM PLACE CARD OR BUFFET LABEL

A simple mechanism allows the ice cream cone to stand up. Add a label to the cone and this item can be used to label toppings on an ice cream cone or sundae bar, or write names on the label and use as place cards.

SUPPLIES

* Cardstock - Daffodil Delight 6” x 3” and for the standing mechanism a piece that is 2” x 1” scored along the 2” sidecar 1/2”, 1”, and 1 1/2” - fold - mountain, valley, mountain, burnish folds.; scraps of Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist, scrap of Basic White die cut with label die or punch of choice (I used Stylish Shaped Dies - banner)

* Inks - Crushed Curry

* Other - sponge dauber

* Adhesive

ASSEMBLY

* Place the texture die over one side of the cone and run through die cut machine.

* Use the ink and sponge dauber to add some shadow to the cone.

*Adhere the Lemon Lolly swirl over the Lemon Lime Twist ice cream. Fold the cone in half. Place adhesive along the top of the front side of the cone and place the ice cream over the adhesive

* Position the standing mechanism so that it looks like a “W.” Place adhesive on the two outer sides. Adhere one side to the bottom of the back side of one side of the cone. Put cone face down and fold the other side of the cone down, line up with the bottom of the front, and press onto the standing mechanism.

* Adhere label die cut / punch out to cone.

I enjoyed creating these projects using the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle. The large ice cream cone image adds a lot of “WOW” to cards and other projects. The fact the ice cream cone can be a fun shaped card is such a fun option. All the accessories (stamps & dies) add so much to the versatility of this bundle.

TRUSTY TOOLS & FUN TOOL THEMED CARDS - AN IN DETAIL POST

Hi Stampers!

Today we’ll take an “In Detail” look at the TRUSTY TOOLS BUNDLE. This is a stamp and die bundle, and is found in the Stampin’ Up!®️ January - April 2024 Mini Catalog. This bundle is a great for creating guy cards, especially for the handyman , woodworker, or builder in your life. Of course this bundle can be used to create cards for handy women too, and kids who have a passion for tools!

This bundle gives you so many options for creating tool themed cards. The stamp set is a two -step set, meaning it contains stamps that are outline images and stamps that fill in the color. You can stamp the outline image and use your choice of medium to add color - markers, watercolor, sponges, etc. Stamp the images directly on to the card panel, or stamp the images and die cut them and adhere them to the card. If those are not enough options for you, you can stamp the outline image on colored cardstock and die cut the images, or just die cut the images from colored cardstock! Plus - there are dies to cut out pieces and assemble a drill, needle nosed pliers, a toolbox, and more.

WILD FERNS BUNDLE & WHITE ON WHITE CARDS - AN IN DETAIL POST

Hi Stampers!

Today we’ll take an “In Detail” look at the WILD FERNS BUNDLE from the Stampin’ Up!®️ January - April 2024 Mini Catalog. This is a bundle you might have overlooked. I certainly did the first couple of times I looked through the catalog. I feel this bundle would work well with the Nature’s Sweetness Suite.

WILD FERNS is a die bundle containing 10 cling stamps and 13 dies. The stamp set includes 5 images and 5 greetings. The die set includes 4 dies that cut out the 4 fern images in the stamp set, 3 label dies that coordinate with the greetings, and 6 dies the cut out accent pieces.

For today’s sample cards I chose to create cards with a white on white theme. I feel the simplicity of the white really compliments the stamped and die cut ferns. Let’s look at the cards:

* Mat - Basic White cardstock 5 1/4” x 4” (emboss with embossing folder)

* Focal image - Basic White cardstock - 3 7/8” x 2”

* Greeting - Basic White cardstock scrap (stamp greeting, then die cut with smallest label die)

ASSEMBLY

* For the focal piece - stamp the background with Crumb Cake ink that has been “stamped off” once. Ink the feen image with the Granny Apple Green ink, and stamp it over the background.

* Stamp the greeting using Crumb Cake ink.

* Emboss the mat and die cut the greeting.

* Adhere the mat to the card base, use dimensionals to adhere the focal panel and greeting to the card front.

* Add the Matte Dots to the focal panel.

* Old Olive cardstock to die cut fern images (the two dies with the ferns and edges for adhesive)

* Ink - Copper Clay

* Embossing folder - (Stripes & Spatters) Stripes or embossing folder of choice

* Embellishment - Brushed Brass Butterflies - 3 - 1 large and two small

* Adhesive (I used liquid glue) and dimentionals

ASSEMBLY

* Stamp the greeting with the Copper Clay ink

* Die cut the greeting and then use the two fern dies to cut the images from Old Olive cardstock

* Use the embossing folder and emboss the mat. The mat will need to be embossed in two parts. I explain this in the video above.

* Adhere the mat to the card base, adhere the two fern pieces to the back of the greeting. Use dimentionals to adhere the greeting piece to the card base. No need to attach the ferns, just put dimensionals on the back of the greeting.

* Add the Brushed Brass Butterflies.
