LET’S MAKE AN ENVELOPE FLAPS FUN FOLD CARD - 3 WAYS

Hi Stampers!

Today I thought we would create an “envelope flaps card” and I will show you three different ways to vary the card. Let’s take a look at my samples:

ENVELOPE FLAPS FUN FOLD CARD

HOW TO MAKE THE CARD BASE

* Start with a piece of cardstock  that is 11” x 5 1/2”.
* Along the 11” side, score the cardstock at 3 3/8” and 7 5/8”.
* On both 5 1/2” sides of the card base measure and mark with a pencil 1” up from the bottom and 1” down from the top. (See diagram above.)
* Place the card base in a trimmer lining up the pencil mark and score line on the cutting line, then cut. Repeat three more times.  (See diagram above.)
* Each end of your card base should resemble an envelope flap.
* Fold the right flap inward and fold the left flap over the right. The card base is finished.

HOW TO MAKE THE LAYERS FOR THE CARD BASE

* You will need two pieces of DSP (patterned paper) cut at 3 1/8” x 5 1/8”. Make sure patterns are oriented the direction you want them to be on the card.
* Place the two pieces of paper side by side. The inside edges will go along the outer edge of the card base flaps and the outer edges will line up along the folded edges of the card base. (See diagram above.)
* Using a pencil, mark the “inside edge of each piece 1” down from the top and 1” down from the bottom.
* Place the paper in the trimmer and line up the pencil mark with the opposite corner on the cutting line and cut. Repeat on opposite end and repeat on the other piece of DSP. (See diagram above.)
* These pieces will layer on the two flaps of the card base allowing the cardstock to form a border around the DSP.

MAKING THE CARDS

FOR EACH CARD YOU WILL NEED

* Card base - 11” x5 1/2” scored at 3 3/8” and 7 5/8” and marked and cut according to directions above, then folded on score lines toward center of card.

* Inside panel - Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/4” x 4”
