CARD KITS FOR SWISS VILLA VISIT - ASSEMBLING THE CARDS

Hello Ladies and Stampers!

Today’s post is for the ladies of my church’s Women’s Missionary Union, but everyone is welcome to read it. This post accompanies the video of the same title, and it is a continuation of my previous video.  I will put a link to that video below. We’ll take a look at the elements in the cards kits and review each card, and the contents of the kits. Here is a look at all the card designs:

TODAY’S VIDEO
ASSEMBLING THE CARDS

HELPFUL  TIPS

* ORIENTATION (for cards in this collection)
Portrait  - the card fold is on the left and the card opens from the right
Landscape - the card fold is across the top and the card opens from the bottom.

* INSIDE GREETING - Cards 1, 2, 3, & 4 have pre-stamped greetings inside. Before adhering anything to the card open it to be certain the greeting is oriented correctly.

* FOAM TAPE & FOAM DOTS - Images and greeting with these adhesives on the back should be placed on the card once all other pieces are adhered to the card base. It is sometimes a challenge to get snail adhesive on an uneven or bumpy surface.

* MISCELLANEOUS
   - Card designs are guidelines. If someone arranges the pieces differently - no problem.
   - Once a card is finished it can be put back inside the ziplock bag with the envelope.
   - I will have a few tools to help remove the backing from the foam tape and foam dots (if needed)
   - Five card designs are created so that on each card the design is the same, but the papers and patterns are different.
   - There are 7 card designs - 3 for Thanksgiving and 4 for Christmas
   - I have a total of 80 cards. If there are 20 residents they will have the opportunity to make 2
Thanksgiving cards, and two Christmas cards. We might need to tweak that number once we get
     the final head count.

There you go. I encourage you to watch the ASSEMBLING THE CARDS VIDEO  a couple of times. I have kept the cards simple, but interesting. There are a variety of greetings and patterns for participants to choose from. Samples of each card design will be available, but it is fine to allow for personal choices. I will have adhesive for everyone, a couple of tools in case someone needs help removing backings from the foam tape or dots, a receptacle to collect all those backings, and spare envelopes.

My plan is for each of us to take a group of 2-3 and work with them on their cards. Introduce yourself, ask their names, and as they are working on the cards take a moment to get to know each person a little bit, and share a bit about yourself if you like. The goal is to provide a fun activity, and to visit with them.
Are you familiar with the hymn, Let Others See Jesus In You?  That is my personal goal for this visit.

Thank you all for participating and helping with the cards. I think the singing, and card making, and cooking eating will make for a great afternoon. A special thanks to our fearless leader, Sara, for arranging this outreach opportunity.

That’s all I have. I will end this post with my usual sign off. Until next time . . .
Stamp Happy!

Kim
