MAKE A QUICK GIFT CARD HOLDER, NO DIES NEEDED - A STAMP HAPPY HOLIDAY POST

Hi Stampers!

Christmas is coming up next week! My holiday card making is finished, but I needed a couple more gift card holders. I have several dies that cut out various types of gift card holders, but I thought today I would share two patterns for gift card holders that require no dies, just cutting, scoring, and adhering together. As always you can keep it simple, or really dress it up. These projects allow you to use what you have on hand to make the gift card holders truly yours. Let’s take a look at the samples:

MAKE A QUICK GIFT CARD HOLDER, NO DIES NEEDED!

QUICK GIFT CARD HOLDERS

BACK OF GIFT CARD HOLDERS

This version of a gift card holder is so easy to put together. You can use either cardstock or patterned paper to create it. Here is a list of supplies needed to create the gift card holder:  

SUPPLIES

* Cardstock or patterned paper cut at 7 1/2” x 3” scored along the 7 1/2” side at 3 3/4” - score along the 3” side at 1/4” and 2 3/4”. On the 3” side at one end make a score line about 1/2” long at the 1 1/2” point. 

* Small circle or small oval punch or die to cut a notch. Line up the punch or die with the 1/2” score line centered.You will only punch or die cut 1/2 the circle or oval.  

* Scissors - cut away the 1/4” tabs from the sides of the panel the notch was cu from (See diagram.)

* Bone Folder - burnish the score lines with the bone folder

* Adhesive - Fold tabs inward. Place double sided tape, tape runner, or liquid glue on tabs and press front of holder onto the tabs.

* Adhesive - Clear Double-sided Adhesive Roll 1/8”

FRONT FLAP GIFT CARD HOLDER

INSIDE FRONT FLAP GIFT CARD HOLDER

This gift card holder resembles a little card. The gift card is tucked into a pocket on the back of the card. Watch the corresponding video to see how to create this gift card holder with the pocket opening inside the card.

SUPPLIES

* Cardstock or Patterned Paper cut at 7 1/4” x 4” Score along 7 1/2” side at 2 1/2” and 5”.  Also score about 1/2” down at 3 3/4” - punch notch here.On the 4” side score at 1/4” on the side opposite where the notch will be. Follow the diagram below for scoring and trimming.

* 1” circle punch or small circle die (3/4” - 1 1/2”) to cut notch on gift card holder

* Scraps of Soft Succulent to die cut two of the circle labels - one for front and one for back of gift card holder.

* Brightest Glow Bundle

* Card base - Soft Succulent 4 1/4” x 11” score and folded at 5 1/2” and a scrap for greeting

* Gold mat - Gold & Rose Gold 6” x 6” Metallic Specialty Paper or Gold Glimmer Paper 4” x 5 1/4” and a piece that is 3 1/4” square (this goes under the die cut focal panel)

* Card base - Basic Black 5 1/2” x 8 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” and scrap of Basic Black for greeting

* Glimmer Specialty Paper- Gold 3 3/4” x 5” - Die cut snowflake shape from center of this piece

* Lights Aglow 6” x 6” Specialty DSP - 3 1/4” x 4 1/2” - black with gold design

* Basic White cardstock 3 3/4” x 5” for inside card - use small snowflake stamp with Crumb Cake ink

* Inks - Crumb Cake, Versa Mark and gold embossing powder

* Adhesive & dimensionals 

ALTERNATIVE HAPPY NEW YEAR CARDI

This card requires the same supplies as the version above. I swapped out the gold glimmer paper for the vanilla glimmer paper, and the Basic White cardstock for inside card for Very Vanilla. I changed the orientation of the card as well.

HOLLY JOLLY WISHES & A QUICK AND EASY GIFT CARD GREETING; A TINSEL TIME TUESDAY POST

 Hi Stampers!

Welcome to Tinsel Time Tuesday! Here we are two days away from Thanksgiving, six days from the start of Hanukkah, and just over a month from Christmas!!! This is my 17th Tinsel Time Tuesday post for the season. Only 3 more to go!!! I hope everyone has a nice stack of Holiday cards to send out to family and friends. If not, no need to panic; today’s project is quick and easy AND does double duty as a greeting card and a gift card holder. Let’s take a look!

GIFT CARD GREETINGS

When you open the card it looks like this…

Most of the greetings for the cards come from the HOLLY JOLLY WISHES stamp set.

FOR THIS PROJECT YOU WILL NEED:

* Cardstock for card base cut at 9 1/4” x 5 1/2” scored along the 9 1/4” side at 7 1/4” x 3”. Fold each score line toward the middle of the card. 

* Basic White cardstock cut at 5 1/4” x 4” for inside of card.

* Two pieces of DSP for front of card cut at 5 1/4” x 2 3/4” and one at 5 1/4” x 1 3/4”.

* A greeting die cut or punched and a mat for the greeting. I used the Layering Circles Dies for the greetings and the mats ( 2 1/4” and 2 1/2” diameter).

* Adhesive, Tear & Tape! Dimensionals.

* Gift card, old credit card, one of those fake credit cards that come in the mail, or gift card template. This item provides a guide to ensure a gift card will fit in the card’s pocket. For the template cut a piece of cardstock at 3 3/8” x 2 1/8”. I used a punch to round the corners of my template, but there is no need to do so.

JINGLE ALL THE WAY

SUPPLIES

* HOLLY JOLLY WISHES stamp set. The little star/snowflake image is from the STARS ARE SHINING stamp set. There is a similar image in the NOTHING’S BETTER THAN stamp set.

* Real Red card base plus scrap for greeting base.

* Basic White for inside card plus scrap for greeting.

* DSP - Heartwarming Hugs - striped pattern. To match stripes cut DSP at 5 1/4” x 4 1/2”. Place the DSP in the paper cutter with the 4 1/2” side along the top and cut at 2 3/4”. Now the stripes on the top of the card and bottom of the card will match up perfectly!

* Inks - Real Red and Granny Apple Green.

WONDERFUL WHIMSICAL HOLLY

SUPPLIES:

HOLLY JOLLY WISHES stamp set.

* Blushing Bride cardstock for card base and greeting mat.

* Basic White cardstock for inside card and scrap for greeting.

SUPPLIES

* Evening Evergreen cardstock for card base and scrap to mat greeting.

* SNOWMAN SEASON (greetings) & PEACEFUL CABIN (snowflakes) stamp sets.

* DSP - Peaceful Place , snowflake and check pattern (same piece of DSP opposite sides).

Today I am sharing a quick and easy gift card holder. I used products from the Whimsy & Wonder Suite found in the Stampin’ Up!®️ July-December 2021 Mini Catalog to create the gift card holders, but you can use any stamps, DSP, and embellishments you like. My gift cards holders are Christmas themed, but they can be made for any gift giving occasion. 

Let’s take a look at the gift card holders:

MEASUREMENTS AND CUTTING DIMENSIONS

Each gift card holder requires the same basic pieces:

* For the base - cardstock cut at 9 1/2” x 3” and scored at 2 1/2” and 6 1/2”.

* Designer Series Paper (DSP) - three pieces: 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”, 2 7/8” x 3 7/8”, and 2 7/8” x 2 3/8”.

* Basic White or light colored cardstock cut at 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”; this goes inside the card to use for a stamped greeting and / or space for writing a short message.

* For the belly band - cardstock or DSP cut at 9” x 1 1/4”.

* Adhesive and Tear & Tape

* Supplies needed to embellish your gift card holder.

* The base and belly band are Mint Macaron cardstock. 

* Scrap of Mint Macaron cardstock to mat focal piece. This will be die cut with the Layering Circle Dies - scalloped, sized to fit focal piece.

* Whimsy & Wonder DSP - Ornament pattern, plus a piece to fussy cut ornaments. Adhere the fussy cut ornaments to the scallop circle piece with dimensionals.
