EASY TO MAKE, FOLD & TIE TREAT OR GIFT CARD HOLDER - A STAMP HAPPY HOLIDAYS POST 🎄

Hi Stampers!

Today I have a very quick and easy treat holder or gift card holder to share with you. This is not my original idea. I saw it a couple of years ago on Pinterest or another site. I sketched out the project, jotted down the measurements, and that it came from In the Pink Designs. So, a big thank you to In the Pink Designs.

This treat holder is perfect for filling and handing out to your favorite Trick-or-Treaters. Make up several, put them in a cute basket, and offer them to guests who visit over the holidays. They would be nice to use as table favors for Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, or to hand out to coworkers.  Gift cards slip nicely inside one too, with room to add a sweet treat as well. And bonus - the holders sit up all on their own! Let’s take a look at today’s samples:

EASY TO MAKE FOLD & TIE TREAT OR GIFT CARD HOLDER

WHAT YOU NEED
* Cardstock - 7 1/4” x 3”
* Patterned Paper - cut 1 at 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” (cut 2 if you want a panel on the back side of the holder); cut 1 at 2 3/4” x 1 3/4” and cut one at 2 3/4”x 1 1/2” (optional)
* Ribbon or twine  - about 12” - 15”
* Corner punch (optional)
* Stamps, die cuts, ink, adhesive, etc
* Wrapped candies such as Ghirardelli chocolates, snack size candy bars, small candy canes, etc or gift cards, etc.

WHAT TO DO
* Score the cardstock along the 7 1/4” side at 4”, 4 1/2”, and 6 1/2”
* Use corner punch - example: corner rounder punch, on all 4 corners of the cardstock, on the top two corners of the 2 3/4” x 3 3/4” papers, and on two top corners of the the 2 3/4” x 1 1/2” piece (This is optional)
*Fold the score lines. The lines at 4” and 4 1/2” are mountain folds, the 6 1/2” line is a valley fold. Go over with bone folder.
* Adhere patterned paper on the larger section of the piece. Now fold the 4 1/2” score line up toward the larger section. Adhere the corresponding piece of paper to this section. Now fold down the smallest section of the cardstock and adhere the remaining piece of patterned paper on it (if using).
* Add any images, tags, die cuts , etc to the holder.
* Wrap the ribbon around the holder, run it under the narrow flap. Tie the ribbon to the right side of the holder. Use a glue dot or bit of adhesive to tack down the flap.
* Add your candies and / or gift card to the holder.

FOLD & TIE TREAT OR GIFT CARD HOLDERS

This project is quick and easy, and of course you can dress up the holders as much as you like. This is a good project for using scraps, and ribbon. I like that the holders stand up on their own. You can punch a hole on the top center ,  thread ribbon or twine through the hole tie it and hang holder on the tree.

So there you have it, week 2 of the Stamp Happy Holidays 2025! Until next time . . .
Stamp Happy!
