Flip Flop Season

FLIP FLOP SEASON
CELEBRATE SUMMER

We are just over a week away from the summer solstice, and the weather here in Southeastern Indiana has been absolutely gorgeous- finally! We had a cool, dreary, wet spring. So, I am truly enjoying the warmer temperatures and the sunshine! Flip flop weather has arrived! To celebrate I thought I would make a Flip Flop Card.

It has been a while since I last made this type of card. The first time I made one was 2006. I still have the card!  I am not sure who the original designer is, and versions of this card can be found on Pinterest and other such resources.

Here is my Flip Flop Card

For this card I chose images from the stamp set, Waterfront (page 129), and the sentiment is from Timeless Tropical (page 36). The die cut “aloha” and the flowers were cut with dies from In the Tropics Dies (page 181). The card base and “ aloha” are Flirty Flamingo. The card panels are Whisper White. The die cut flowers are Daffodil Delight.

I used Flirty Flamingo, Coastal Cabana, Garden Green, Soft Suede, and Sahara Sand inks.

Here is a copy of the template I used to make the card.
The card base (Flirty Flamingo) is 6 1/4” wide x 5 1/2” tall.
For the central panels cut 2 pieces of Whisper White cut at 4 1/8” x 3 1/4”.
Following the template, use a paper trimmer or craft knife and self-healing mat to cut on the dotted lines. Use scrap paper to protect the center of the card, and stamp the texture (sand) pattern on the outside border of the card. The set of score lines on the left fold - mountain fold. The set of score lines on the right fold - valley fold.  Stamp the panels. Adhere them to the center panel (front and back). Attach the die cuts.

I hope you give the Flip Flop Card a try!

Until next time...

Stamp Happy!

Kim
