SCRAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!

SCRAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!

Creating Great Cards From Bits & Pieces

Today I took a look at my scrap bin and decided it was time to put those bits and pieces of DSP (designer series paper) and cardstock to good use. I am sure you have more than a few scraps of beautiful DSP just waiting to become part of wonderful handmade cards! There is no end to the creative possibilities!

This bright and cheery card began as seven 1” x 6” strips of DSP from the Flowers For Every Season DSP and 6” x 6” In Color 2020-2022 DSP glued diagonally to a 5 1/4” x 4” piece of Whisper White cardstock. I trimmed off the excess DSP, then trimmed the cardstock to 5” x 3 3/4”. Next I embossed the piece with the Tasteful Textile 3D embossing folder. I adhered it to a piece of Basic Black cardstock, and tied some Bumble Bee Ribbon around the panel. This was adhered to a Bumble Bee card bases. The three pieces that make up the sentiment panel came from my collection of extra die cuts and punched pieces. The Whisper White die Cutting was cut with a die from the Tasteful Labels collection. The Bumble Bee and Basic Black pieces were die cut with the Laying Circles Dies. the sentiment is from A Wish For Everything stamp set.

I used 1 1/2” strips of wood grain patterned paper from the In Good Taste DSP. I used the same process as I did on the previous card. I glued the strips to a piece of Whisper White cardstock, but the time in a staggered pattern. I trimmed the excess DSP, cur down the piece to 3 3/4” x 5”, embossed it with the Tasteful textile 3D embossing folder, glued it to a piece of Soft Suede cardstock, and then to a Early Espresso card base. The sentiment layer are Early Espresso, Soft Suede, and Crumb Cake cardstock die Cutting with the Stitched Rectagles Dies. The sentiment is from the Zany Zebras stamp set.

For this card used two color coordinated patterns of DSP from the Flowers For Every Season collection, adhered them to a piece of 5 1/4” to 4” piece of Whisper White cardstock. I tied a piece of Misty Moonlight In Color ribbon around it, and glued it to a Misty Moonlight card bases. The Crumb Cake layer of the sentiment was die cut with the Tasteful Labels Dies. The Misty Moonlight layer was die cut using the Stitched Shapes Dies. Once again the sentiment is part of the A Wish for Everything stamp set.

This card began with a 41/2” x 6” piece of  Cinnamon Cider scrap DSP from the the 2020-2022 In Color DSP. I used the Nothing’s Better Than stamp set for the images and sentiment on this card. The background panel is stamped with the chocolates outline stamp. A scrap piece of Cinnamon Cider cardstock serves a ps a mat for two more scrap pieces of DSP from the Flowers For Every Season collection. The sentiment is stamped on a piece Whisper White cardstock. Below is the inside of the card.

I made a small dent in my scrap bin, but it is a start. I encourage you to pull out your scraps and discover how truly creative you truly are. I hope these cards provide you with great Inkspirations!

Until next time...
