STAMPING ON VELLUM
In the past I have discussed using samples in the Stampin’ Up!®️ catalogs for card making inspiration, or CASEing. (Copy and Share Everything) For today’s card that is exactly what I did.
One evening as I was perusing the annual catalog the card on the left caught my eye. I do not know how I missed it the other 3000 times I looked through the catalog! What drew me to the card is the green leaves - they are stamped on vellum. (Check out page 30 in the annual catalog to see the Rooted In Nature stamp set and this card.)
Here is the card I made:
As opposed to a square card, I made mine a regular A-2 card. My card base is Cinnamon Cider. I used a mat of Pumpkin Pie for the Cinnamon Cider 2020-22 In Color DSP.
For the focal image I stamped the “slice of wood” on Cinnamon Cider cardstock with Cinnamon Cider ink. I fussy cut it, and gently rolled the edges of the image inward to add a bit of dimension, before attaching it to the card. I used a die from Tasteful Labels Dies to cut out the Pumpkin Pie mat for the greeting. I stamped the Happy Birthday (from the Zany Zebras stamp set) on Very Vanilla cardstock with Cinnamon Cider ink. I cut it out with another die from the Tasteful Labels Dies. The Happy Birthday is attached to the Pumpkin Pie die cut with dimensionals.
I used several leaves from the stamp set on vellum using Shaded Spruce, Crushed Curry, Cinnamon Cider, and Poppy Parade ink, and cut them out with the matching dies. When stamping on vellum be sure your stamp is not too “inky.” Stamp off once on scrap paper if you feel there is too much ink on your stamp. Stamp straight down on the vellum, and lift the stamp straight up and off the cardstock. Heat set your images using your heat tool prior to die cutting or putting them on a card.
I put adhesive on the back of the greeting piece and arranged the leaves. I gentle curled the vellum leaves with my bone folder. I added some loops of Linen Thread for a bit more texture. I popped the greeting up on dimensionals, and added it to the card.
I really like the way this card turned out. Why not CASE a card from the catalog today? Stampin’ Up! catalogs are a terrific resource for greatinkspirations!
Until next time... Stamp Happy!
