TINSEL TIME THURSDAY

 TINSEL TIME THURSDAY

CARD # 7

Welcome to week 7 of Tinsel Time Thursday. Today’s card is a window card made using the Peaceful Nativity Bundle. Here is the card:

The Peaceful Nativity Bundle is found on page 17 of the Stampin’ Up! August - December 2020 Mini Catalog.

To make this card you will need the following supplies.

A piece of DSP from the Snowflake Splendor collection. Below is a photo of the design I used, and the pattern that is on the opposite side. The DSP is cut at 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”.  A Whisper White cardstock, cut at 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4”. A small piece of Champange foil sheet.

Night of Navy and Memento Tuxedo Black inks, Champange Mist Shimmer Paint, Sponge Dauber, Stitched Shapes Die - largest square.

Stampin’ Seal (or liquid glue), Stampin’ Dimensionals, Glue Dots

Let’s make the card:

Adhere the DSP to the front of the card base.

Using the Stitched Shapes square die to cut a square in the center of the card front.

Using the two star images in the stamp set and the glimmer paint, stamp stars randomly on the card front and the square cut from the card center.

To stamp with the Shimmer Paint, there are a couple of options. First shake the paint to mix it up. Take off the lid, and turn it upside down. Stick the sponge dauber into the lid to pick up some ink. You can then use the dauber to ink the stamp, or use the dauber to sponge the ink on an acrylic block, and use that as your ink pad to ink up your stamps.

Now stamp the greeting on the back of the card (yes, the back of the card) using Night of Navy ink. The star above the sentiment is a die cut, we will get to that later.

Stamp “Rejoice” on the inside near the top using Night of Navy ink.

Stamp with Memento Tuxedo Black ink, and use the Stampin’ Blends of your choice to color the images of the donkey, sheep, and the Holy Family.

Die cut the items you just colored, plus two palm trees. (I used Night of Navy for these, but the Champange foil would be a great choice too.)Also cut out two stars.

Put dimensionals on the back of the square you die cur from the card front. Close the card, and place the square back in its spot. Arrange your die cuts on the card. I used glue dots on the largest leaf of the trees to hold them in place. Then I put dimensionals on the sheep and donkey and placed each of them in front of a tree to help secure them. Be careful not to put dimensionals in areas of the animals that hangover onto the center panel. Put dimensionals on the image of the Holy Family, and center this piece on the center of the square. Place a dimensional on one of the stars, and situate it over the image of the Holy Family. Put a glue dot on the other star and center it above the sentiment On the back side of the card. The card is finished!

* The stars stamped using the shimmer paint barely show up in the photos, but in real life the sparkle and shine!

I hope this card provides you with motivation and greatinkspirations for your Christmas Card projects.

Next week’s card will feature the Don’t Stop Believin’ stamp set (page 23 of the mini catalog).

Until next time...
Stamp Happy!
