AN EASY STEP CARD THAT WOWS!

I needed a card for my niece’s baby shower. I wanted a bright, colorful, fun card.  Here is the card I made:

I chose to make a step card using the Whale of aTime DSP (page 95 and 150 of Annual Catalog). The sentiment is from the Whale Done stamp sets (page 96 of Annual Catalog). the card base is Granny Apple Green, and the mat layers are Pool Party.

There are several versions of the step card, and all of them are are definitely worthy of a wow! Below are the instructions for this version of the step card.

The card base is 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”

Place the 5 1/2” side of the paper at the top of the paper trimmer at the 1” mark. Now with the cutting blade positioned at 1” cut from 1” to 5 1/4”.  Move the card base to 4 1/2” , and again cut the cardstock from 1” - 5 1/4”.

Now turn the cardstock to the 8 1/2” side. Line up at 1”.  With the scoring blade score from the outside of the cardstock to the cut line. Move the scoring blade to the end of the cut line to the outside of the cardstock.  Slide the cardstock to 2” and repeat the process  (score to the cut line the score from the cut line to the end of the cardstock).

Next move the cardstock to 4 1/4” and score between the cut lines.

Move the cardstock to the 5 1/4” score at the top and the bottom to the cut line.

Fold the score line at the 4 1/4” score line (mountain fold). Fold the score line at the 1” mark (mountain fold). Fold the 2” fold (valley fold). Now fold the 5 1/4” score (mountain fold).

The card base is ready to decorate as you wish!

Thanks for stopping by. I hope I have provided you with greatinkspirations, and that you will give the step card a try!

Until next time...

Stamp Happy!
