TINSEL TIME THURSDAY CARD # 13!

Welcome to week 13 of Tinsel Time Thursday! It is so hard to believe we are less than two months from Christmas! I hope your stash of a Christmas cards is growing, and you will soon have all you need to send  Christmas cheer to all your friends and family!

Today’s card design is quite simple, but the embossing and brushed metallic cardstock make it simply elegant. Here is today’s card:

The stamped focal image is from the Peaceful Nativity stamp set found in the Stampin’ Up!®️ August - December 2020 Mini Catalog. The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas found in the Stampin’ Up! 2020-21 Annual Catalog.

To make this card you will need the following supplies:

Card base of Whisper White (thick) cut at 5 1/2” x 8 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4”.  Whisper White cardstock - scrap that is about 2 1/2” x 3 1/2” and a piece of  gold brushed metallic cardstock that is about 3” x 4”.
Versa Mark ink, gold embossing powder, and a heat tool.

To prevent the embossing powder to clinging where you do not want it to be rub a dryer sheet over the cardstock prior to stamping and adding the embossing powder. If you have an Embossing Buddy, of course you can use that. (Stampin’ Up! no longer offers the Embossing Buddy.)

Stitched Rectangle s Dies - the one that measures 1 7/8” x 3 1/4” for the focal image; the one that measures 2 1/4” x 3 5/8” for the focal image mat. Adhesive of choice.

To assemble the card:

Wipe the dryer sheet over the Whisper White cardstock, then stamp the focal image using Versa Mark. Sprinkle the gold embossing powder Over the image. Flick off the excess. Heat set the image with the heat tool.

Die cut the focal image and the mat for the focal image.

Wipe across the front of the card base with the dryer sheet. Place the focal image on the card base to help judge where to stamp the greeting. Stamps the greeting with Versa Mark. Put the focal image aside. Sprinkle the embossing powder over the stamped greeting. Remove excess. Heat set with heat tool.

Adhere the focal image to the card base centered over the greeting.

The card is finished.

*For the inside of this card I used the Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year stamp from Itty Bitty Christmas. I stamped the sentiment using Crumb Cake ink. I find Crumb Cake tends to give the illusion of gold when used on Whisper White cardstock, especially if gold is used on the front of the card.

That is it for this week’s Tinsel Time Thursday. Next week’s Tinsel Time Thursday’s card will feature the Santa image from the Don’t Stop Believin’ stamp set.

Until next time...
Stamp Happy!
