CREATE DELICIOUSLY SWEET CARDS WITH THE ICE CREAM SWIRL BUNDLE - AN IN DETAIL POST

Hi Stampers!

Today we are taking a look at the ICE CREAM SWIRL BUNDLE found in the current Stampin’ Up!®️Mini Catalog. This is a die bundle that provides lots of options for creating deliciously sweet cards and other projects. Let’s take a look at my sample projects:

SUPPLIES

* Cardstock: Daffodil Delight 6” x 3” ; Pecan Pie - scrap
* DSP - 6” x 6” DSP - Brights - Real Red polka dot pattern - scrap
* Inks - Daffodil Delight and Pecan Pie
* Hole Punch or Die to cut hole for twine
* Twine - Baker’s Twine Three Color Pack - Lemon Lolly about 8”
* Embellishment - 3, Opaque Faceted Gems, Pecan Pie (SAB, retired)

BONUS PROJECT 
ICE CREAM PLACE CARD OR BUFFET LABEL


A simple mechanism allows the ice cream cone to stand up. Add a label to the cone and this item can be used to label toppings on an ice cream cone or sundae bar, or write names on the label and use as place cards.

SUPPLIES

* Cardstock - Daffodil Delight 6” x 3” and for the standing mechanism a piece that is 2” x 1” scored along the 2” sidecar 1/2”, 1”, and 1 1/2”  - fold  - mountain, valley, mountain, burnish folds.; scraps of Lemon Lolly and Lemon Lime Twist, scrap of Basic White die cut with label die or punch of choice (I used Stylish Shaped Dies - banner)
* Inks - Crushed Curry
* Other - sponge dauber
* Adhesive

ASSEMBLY

* Place the texture die over one side of the cone and run through die cut machine.
* Use the ink and sponge dauber to add some shadow to the cone.
*Adhere the Lemon Lolly swirl over the Lemon Lime Twist ice cream. Fold the cone in half. Place adhesive along the top of the front side of the cone and place the ice cream over the adhesive
* Position the standing mechanism so that it looks like a “W.” Place adhesive on the two outer sides. Adhere one side to the bottom of the back side of one side of the cone. Put cone face down and fold the other side of the cone down, line up with the bottom of the front, and press onto the standing mechanism.
* Adhere label die cut / punch out to cone.

* Card base - Lemon Lolly cardstock- 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”
* Inside panel - Basic White cardstock  - 5” x 3 3/4”
* Cardstock for cone - Crushed Curry - 6” x 3”
* Other cardstock - scraps of Very Vanilla, Pecan Pie, and Basic White
* Inks - Crumb Cake, Pecan Pie, Sweet Sorbet
* Embellishments - Rainbow Adhesive Backed Dots - Petal Pink - 3

BOWL OF SWEETNESS CARD


Inspired by a card on page 37 of the Stampin’ Up! January - April 2024 Mini Catalog

* Card base - Basic White cardstock (thick) - 
* Mat - Basic White cardstock - 5 1/4” x 4” - embossed with embossing folder
* Embossing Folder - Softly Sophisticated (SAB retired)
* DSP - Glorious Gingham - Berry Burst - 5 1/4” x 1 1/4”
* DSP for “bowl” - Bright & Beautiful - scallop pattern, 6” x 3”
* Greeting - Basic White cardstock  die cut
* Die - Nested Essentials Dies - rounded corner rectangle - 2 1/8” x 1 1/2”
* Basic White cardstock  - scraps to stamp items for bowl
* Inks - Berry Burst, Ear,y Espresso; Stampin’ Blends - Real Red (light & dark), Cherry Cobbler (light& dark), Sweet Sorbet (light& dark), Granny Apple Green (light & dark), Lemon Lolly (dark), Pecan Pie (light), Crumb Cake (light & dark), Natural Tones (#900); Wink of Stella (used on fruit)
* Embellishments - Tinsel Gems Four Pack - Berry Burst 5
* Adhesive and dimensionals 

NOTE - to create the “bowl” cut the cone die cut apart, then cut off the top part of the cone to form the bowl.

MAKE A SWEET WISH BIRTHDAY TENT CARD



SUPPLIES

* Card base - 11” x 4 1/4” scored and folded at 5 1/2”
* Stand mechanism -  2” x 4 1/4” scored along the 2” side at 1/2”, 1” and 1 1/2” fold in the shape of a “W”
* Mat - Crushed Cardstock - 5 1/4” x 4”
* DSP layer - Delightfully Eclectic - white with Crushed Curry dots
* Other cardstock - Crushed Curry, Sweet Sorbet, Cherry Cobbler, Basic White for greeting
* Dies - Nested Essentials Dies - rounded corner rectangle - 2 1/8” x 1 1/2”
* Ink - Cherry Cobbler
* Embellishments - Festive Pearls - 5 Cherry Cobbler

MOCK GATE FOLD POP UP ICE CREAM SWIRL CARD


SUPPLIES

* Card base - Basic White cardstock (thick) - 8” x 5 1/2”  score on 8” side at 2” and 6”;  put 5 1/2” side of cardstock along top of trimmer at 1 1/4” and cut from 2” to 6” (between score lines) - repeat on opposite side of cardstock. Score at 4” on both 1 1/4” strips. From the outside edge to the cut line. On the middle panel score at 3” and 5” from 1 1/4” to 4 1/4” - between cut lines. (See diagram below.)
* Bubble Bath cardstock - cut 2 at 5 1/4” x 1 3/4”
* Other cardstock - Bubble Bath, Crushed Curry, Basic White for banner and strawberry
* DSP - Lighter Than Air; 2 strips diagonal strip pattern - 5 1/4” x 1 3/4”; diamond pattern - cut 4 at 1 3/4” x 1” and 2 at 2 3/4” x 3/4”
* Dies - Stylish Shapes Dies - Banner 3 1/4” x 1’
* Ink - Crushed Curry, Bubble Bath, and Early Espresso; Stampin’ Blends - Sweet Sorbet (light & dark), Granny Apple Green (light & dark)

ICE CREAM SWIRL CARDS



I enjoyed creating these projects using the Ice Cream Swirl Bundle. The large ice cream cone image adds a lot of “WOW” to cards and other projects. The fact the ice cream cone can be a fun shaped card is such a fun option.  All the accessories (stamps & dies) add so much to the versatility of this bundle.
