Summertime is here, and time for some yummy frozen treats! This is also the perfect time to create cards using the SWEET ICE CREAM stamp set, and the ICE CREAM CONE BUILDER punch!
Some of today’s cards are “slim line” cards. There are different measurements for slim line cards. The measurements I use may be a bit different from others, but with a little adjustments the card designs will work just fine on other slim line cards. For mailing I use a #10 (business size) envelope. I purchase the envelopes that do not have the security linings (blue, black, or Gray designs lining the envelopes).
Let’s take a look at the cards:
ICE CREAM CARDS
POPSICLE CARDS
* Note - the stamp set and punch are available as a bundle for a 10% saving as part of the January - June Mini Catalog. After 30 June 2021 the bundle will retire, but the items will be available as individual items as part of the Stampin’ Up! ®️ 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.
* Measurements for slim line card bases - 9 1/4” x 8” scored and folded at 4” along the 8” side.
* Basic White cardstock for focal panel - 8 1/2” x 2 1/2”
A-2 CARDS
* Card bases - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” along the 8 1/2” side or 11” x 4 1/4” scored and folded at 5 1/2” along the 11” side.
* Mats for focal panels 5 1/4” x 4”.
* Focal panels 5” x 3 3/4”
SLIM LINE CARDS
* Daffodil Delight slim line card base, scrap of Daffodil Delight cardstock cut at 3 1/2” x 1 1/4”
* Basic White focal panel as described above, and a scrap of Basic White cut at 3 1/4” x 1”.
* Inks - Daffodil Delight, Pale Papaya, Granny Apple Green, Melon Mambo, Cinnamon Cider, Wink of Stella
* Other - White Baker’s twine - about 10”
* Adhesive of choice and dimensionals, glue dots
ASSEMBLY
* On the Basic White focal panel stamp the popsicles, add the detail, sticks, and drop. Next stamp the background dots with Daffodil Delight ink. Go over the popsicles and the drops with Wink of Stella.
* Stamp the greeting on the small piece of Basic White with Daffodil Delight ink. Mat it on the Daffodil Delight mat.
* Adhere the focal panel to the card base more toward the left side of the card. Use dimensionals and attach the greeting to the card between the first and second popsicle images.
* Fold the baker’s twine in half. Tie a bow. Trim the ends, and attach to the card with a glue dot.
SUPPLIES FOR THIS CARD:
* Granny Apple Green card base, Basic White focal panel
* Gorgeous Grape mat - 8 3/4” x 2 3/4”
* Basic White scraps for popsicles and greeting and small scrap of Granny Apple Green.
* About 8” of Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon
* Inks - Granny Apple Green, Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pue, Cinnamon Cider
* Layering Circles Dies
* Adhesive of choice and dimensionals
ASSEMBLY
* Stamp each of the popsicles and the greeting.
* Fussy cut the popsicles and die cut the greeting and Granny Apple Green mat with the layering circle dies (1 1/8” diameter circle and 1 1/2” scalloped circle).
* Stamp the popsicle sticks on the focal panel. Adhere the popsicles with dimensionals. Stamp the drips.
* Adhere the greeting pieces together and attach to the focal panel with dimensionals
* Cut off about 3 1/3” of the ribbon and attach each end to the back of the focal panel with adhesive or tape. Use the remaining ribbon and tie it in a knot around the taped ribbon. Trim the ends.
* Adhere the focal panel to the Gorgeous Grape cardstock.
* Adhere the focal panel to the card base.
* Bermuda Bay card base
* Basic White focal panel plus scrap for greeting and a piece that is 1 1/2” x 5” for ice cream scoops
* Inks - Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Polished Pink, Crumb Cake, Soft Suede
* Stitched Rectangle Dies (3 1/4 x 1 1/4”)
* White baker’s twine - about 40 inches.
* Adhesive of choice, Dimensionals
ASSEMBLY
* Stamp the greeting with Bermuda Bay ink on a scrap of Basic White cardstock. Cut out with the Stitched Rectangles Die.
* Stamp the ice scream scoops in a line on Basic White cardstock with Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, and Polished Pink inks. Punch out the images.
* Stamp the cones on the focal panel with Crumb Cake. Stamp the hash marks on the cones with Soft Suede.
* Adhere the ice cream scoops over the cones.
* Stamp the drips.
* Adhere the greeting with dimensionals between the second and third ice cream cones.
* Wrap the baker’s twine around the card twice and tie in a bow.
A-2 CARDS
* So Saffron A-2 card base and a Basic White mat
* Focal panel - So Saffron, from Hand-Penned DSP.
* Basic White cardstock for the ice cream scoops and for the greeting.
* Crumb Cake cardstock for the comes.
* Inks - Daffodil Delight, Mint Macaron, and Soft Suede
* Stitched Rectangles Dies - 3 1/4” x 1 1/4”
* Adhesive of choice and dimensionals.
ASSEMBLY
* Use the card sample for placement.
* The middle ice cream cone is attached with dimensionals.
* Mint Macaron A-2 card base, Basic White mat.
* Focal panel - Mint Macaron from Hand- Penned DSP.
* Basic White cardstock pieces for ice cream scoop and greeting.
* Scrap of Crumb Cake cardstock.
* Inks - Daffodil Delight and Soft Suede
* Layering Circles Dies - 2 5/8” diameter
* Adhesive of choice and dimensionals
ASSEMBLY
* Refer to the sample card for placement.
* The focal piece (greeting and ice cream cone) is attached to the card with dimensionals
* The ice cream scoop is attached to the greeting with adhesive, the cone is attached with a mini dimensional.
* Pale Papaya card base, Gorgeous Grape mat - 5 1/8” x 3 5/8”
* Basic White focal panel and Basic White cardstock for the popsicles
* Inks - Pale Papaya, Gorgeous Grape, and Crumb Cake
* White baker’s twine- about 5” each for the bows
* Adhesive of choice and dimensionals and glue dots.
ASSEMBLY
* Stamp the greeting 6 times on the focal panel with Pale Papaya ink.
* Stamp the popsicle images with Pale Papaya and Gorgeous Grape inks. Stamp the popsicle sticks with Crumb Cake ink.
* Adhere the sticks to the back of the popsicles. Adhere the Pale Papaya popsicle to the card with adhesive. Adhere the Gorgeous Grape popsicle with dimensionals.
* Use glue dots and attach the baker’s twine with glue dots
