SAY IT AIN’T FAUX! STEP CARDS THE EASY WAY!

Hi Stampers!

Today we are going to fake it, and make it! We are talking center step cards and side step cards -  sort of. Today we are going to take a look at FAUX CENTER STEP AND FAUX SIDE STEP CARDS! These cards bear a resemblance to actual CENTER STEP and  SIDE STEP CARDS, but they are quicker and easier to make. These cards were designed to mimic the originals without all the muss and fuss. I believe these card designs are great additions to the step card family! Let’s take a look at the sample cards!

STEP CARDS THE EASY WAY

FAUX CENTER STEP & FAUX SIDE STEP CARDS

SUPPLIES YOU WILL NEED FOR THE CARD

* Card Base - cardstock cut at 8” x 5 1/2” and score along 8” side at 3”. 6”, and 7”. Fold at 3” score line - mountain fold, fold at 6” score line - valley fold, fold at 7” line - mountain fold.

* Focal Panel Base - cardstock cut at 6” x 3” and score on 6” side at 4 1/4”.

* Focal Panel - cardstock to patterned paper cut at 4” x 2 3/4”.

* Background Layer - (optional) cut patterned paper at 5 1/4” 2 3/4”

* Step Layer - (optional) cut patterned paper at 5 1/4” x 3/4”

* Back Panel - white or light colored cardstock cut at 5 1/4” x 2 3/4”

* Stamps, inks, embellishments, adhesives, and other supplies needed to create your card.

ASSEMBLY

* Cut and score card base and focal panel base.

* Prepare focal panel and adhere to focal panel base.

* Stamp greeting on back panel.

* Adhere background layer and / or step layer to card base.

* Adhere focal panel base to card. Decide if you want this piece to be on the side (either the left or the right, or in the center), place adhesive along the back side of the bottom and top of the piece. Place it lined up along the bottom of the card base. Turn the card over and press the piece down onto the card base.

* Adhere the back panel centered on the back side of the card.

* Add desired embellishments.

FAUX STEP CARDS

I hope you give these cards a try. They are so easy to make, fit in a regular A-2 size envelope, stand up on their own, and look great!
