BANNER YEAR JOY FOLD CARD
FEATURING PLAID TIDINGS DSP
The last couple of days I have been making cards using one of my favorite folds - the joy fold. Joy fold cards are easy to make, and add a fun twist to the traditional style cards. There are several variations of the joy fold card. Today’s cards were made using a basic joy fold layout. I chose the Banner Year stamp set paired with the Plaid Tidings Designer Series Paper(DSP) for the featured cards. The stamp set and DSP can be found in the Stampin’ Up! ®️ August- December 2020 Mini Catalog. I also have examples of other cards I made using this fold and a video toward the end of this post.
So, what exactly is a joy fold card? Basically, (my version) is an A-2 size, landscape oriented card which has had 1/2 of the front panel made shorter and a smaller card attached. It will make more sense as we go along!
Here is the Banner Year stamp set. It contains a variety of images and sentiments appropriate for fall, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day.
Here are cards I made using the joy fold!
And here is my featured card for today:
To make this card you will need the following:
Card base - Basic Black cut at 8”x4 1/2”, scored at 5 1/2” Basic Black cardstock cut at 8”x3”, scored at 4”. Whisper White cardstock - 2 pieces cut at 2 3/4” x 3 3/4”. DSP from Plaid Tidings (plaid pattern with Basic Black, Pumpkin Pie, Mango Melody, Rich Razzleberry), 2 pieces - one cut at 4”x 5 1/2”, and another cut at 4} x 2 1/4” Pumpkin Pie ink, Memento Tuxedo Black ink, adhesive of your choice, and the Banner Year stamp set
On one of the pieces of Whisper White cardstock use the Memento Tuxedo Black in to stamp the bats. Use the Pumpkin Pie ink to stamp the “Happy Haunting.” On the remaining piece of Whisper White cardstock stamp a few more bats in the Tuxedo Black, and the “Boo!” in Pumpkin Pie. On the 3” x 4”Basic Black card adhere the “Happy Haunting”on the outside of the card. The card can open from the left side or the right side - your choice. Now adhere the DSP to the larger card base. Put adhesive on the back side of the “small” card, and center it on the larger piece of DSP on the larger card. And that is all there is to it!
Here are a few other joy fold cards I made this week.
