TINSEL TIME THURSDAY

 TINSEL TIME THURSDAY

Card # 3

Welcome to the third installment of Tinsel Time Thursday! Today’s card is a Version of the Dutch door Fold. It is sort of a combination of the Dutch Door Fold and an easel card - sort of! The card does require a lot of pieces got layering, but you can leave our layers or adjust the card to fit your style. The card features the Merry Moose Bundle - stamp set and punch - featured on page 27 of the current mini catalog. This bundle made its debut in last year’s Holiday Catalog, and is back for its encore appearance!

Here is a look at the card

Here are the supplies needed for the card

Inks:  Cherry Cobbler, Shaded Spruce, Crumb Cake, Memento Tuxedo Black; Stampin’ Blends - Crumb Cake (light), Ivory, Soft Suede (light and dark).

Other: Stitched Rectangle dies (smallest and narrowest and one size up from that - they measure 5/8” x 2 5/8” and 1” x 3”.)

A sponge to dab on a bot of ink below the trees.

Cardstock: Cherry Cobbler and Early Espresso
DSP: ‘Tis the Season 6 x 6

Card base- Cut the Cherry Cobbler cardstock to 8” x 7 1/8”.
On the 8” side score at 2” and 6”.
on the 7 1/8” side score at 2 2/3”, but only to the score line on the 8” side - flip your paper
over and do the same thing on the other side.
Now cut along the 2” score line until you reach the 2 3/8” score line - then cut along the
2 3/8” score line and remove the two inch strip. Do the same along the 6” score line.
Your cardstock will look like this:

Fold the two flaps inward. Now fold down the cardstock from the top until it meets the
“doors” . The card base is finished.

Here are the dimensions for they layers
     For the  small doors
          Early Esspresso 2 pieces at 2 1/4 x 1 7/8  and DSP 2 pieces at 2 1/8 x 1 3/4.
     For the top flap
          Early Espresso 1 piece at 3 7/8 x 2 1/8 and DSP 1 piece at 3 5/8 x 1 7/8.
     For the Focal Panel
Cherry Cobbler  1 piece at 3 1/2 square, Early Espresso 1 piece at 3 3/8 square,
DSP 1 piece at 3 1/4 square, and Very Vanilla 1 piece 2 3/4” square
     Inside of card
          Early Espresso 1 piece at 4 5/8 x 3 7/8, Very Vanilla 1 piece at 4 1/2 x 3 3/4
For the moose and greeting- scraps of Very Vanilla
For the mat under the greeting a scrap of Early Espresso.

Using the Tuxedo Black ink stamp the outline moose image on a piece of scrap Very Vanilla cardstock.
Use the Soft Suede Stampin’ Blends- Soft Suede (light and dark) to color and shade the moose’s body. Use the Ivory Stampin’ Blend to color the antlers. ShDe antlers a bit with the Crumb Cake Stampin’ Blend. Punch put the moose and set aside.

On a scrap piece of Very Vanilla stamp the “Happiest of Holidays” greeting. Die cut using the smallest of the two Stitched Rectangle dies. Use the othe die to cut a mat for the greeting from the scrap of Early Esspreso.

On the Very Vanilla layer for the inside toward the top center stamp “Have a Cozy Christmas” in Cherry Cobbler.

Along the bottom of the same piece of cardstock use Shaded Spruce ink and the largest tree image from he set to stamp the trees. Ink the stamp, stamp, then stamp again, repeat across to have trees in the foreground and background.  Using a sponge inked with Crumb Cake lightly “pounce” on some color along the bottom of the trees to “ground” them.

For the focal image repeat the same process with  the tree image as was done for inside the card. Add the Crumb Cake to this image as well.

Now to assemble the card.

Adhere  the Very Vanilla inside panel onto its corresponding piece of Early Espresso, and adhere to inside of card.

For the card front each of the 3 sections will have a layer of Early Espresso topped with a layer of DSP.

For the focal panel, layer the Very Vanilla onto the DSP, then the Early Espresso, then the square of Cherry Cobbler. Place dimensionals on the back side of the Moose,  and adhere to the focal image. Adhere the greeting to the focal panel. Line it up along the top edge of the Very Vanilla focal piece.

To place the focal panel on the card place adhesive only on the middle section of the square. I use a 4 1/4   x 5 1/2” card base to help me line up the card correctly. See photo below.

Once my panel was aligned with the top of the yellow card base I just pressed down to adhere it to my card. That is it. The card is complete! This card will fit inside a regular A-2 envelope.

I hope this card has provided you with greatinkspirations.

Next week’s card features the Snow Wonder stamp set and the very pretty Feels Like Frost DSP.

Until next time...
Stamp Happy!
