HAPPY WORLD CARDMAKING DAY!

IT’S A BEAUTIFUL WORLD WHEN YOU ARE

FREE AS A BIRD!!!

Hello! Happy World Cardmaking Day! I encourage you to participate in this very creative holiday by making a card, and sending the card to someone who might need a lift. Who doesn’t enjoy receiving a gorgeous handmade card in their mailbox? No one! Whether you call them happy mail, a paper hug, or a smile in the mailbox, handmade cards bring a smile to the faces of the recipients.

I used two stamp sets for my cards. The Beautiful World set and the Free As a Bird set.

Each of these sets contain sentiments that go along quite nicely with this card making occasion! From the Beautiful World set I chose the “ you make the world a better place” sentiment, and on the inside of the cards I used the “thanks for being you” sentiment from the Free  As a Bird set. For one card I used “the world needs more of you” also from the Free As a Bird set.

So, let’s take a look at the cards I made to celebrate this creatively fun holiday!

This is one version of the card I made using the Beautiful World stamp sets and the coordinating World of Good DSP, both are found in the Stampin’ Up!®️ 2020-21 Annual Catalog.

For this version I used the plaid tidings DSP from the current mini catalog. I also used some of the Frosted Epoxy Dots (annual catalog).

This rendition was made using the 6 x 6 DSP - Brights Collection. I chose Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, and Pacific Point, and put the colorful focal panel on a Whisper White (thick) card base. The colorful dots are pearls colored with Stampin’ Blends. As there is no Pacific Point Stampin’ Blend, I used the Night of Navy (light) and the color is very close in real life.

Lastly here is a more feminine version of the card. I used the Flowers For Every Season DSP (annual catalog), the sentiment is from Free As A bird stamp set, and I added some Misty Moonlight ribbon.

As you can see, the card can be made using any cardstock and DSP. For embellishments - Ribbon, pearls, gems, rhinestones, etc all work great!

This is what you will need to make a card similar to mine:

*Cardstock for the base that is 4 1/4” x 11”, scored and folded at 5 1/2”.
*A piece of cardstock the same color as the card base that is cut at 4 1/2” x 4”
*A piece of cardstock for the greeting. It can be the same color as the card base or a coordinating color.
* A piece of light colored cardstock for the inside of the card that is cut at 3 3/4” x 5”.
* 3 strips of DSP cut at 1 1/2” x 4”
* Coordinating Ink, Versa Mark + embossing powder (heat tool)
* A die to cut out the sentiment.
* Dimensionals and Stampin’ Seal or the adhesive of your choice.
* Embellishments - Ribbon, gems, pearls, adhesive dots, etc.

Here is a video that walks you through assembling the card:

Enjoy World Cardmaking Day, and as always I hope my cards provide you with greatinkspirations!
