TRIPLE THE FUN FUN FOLD

 Hi Stampers,

I want to share a card idea with you inspired by a card sample I saw in the upcoming Stampin’ Up!®️ January - June 2021 Mini Catalog.* I believe the sample card uses a note card for a base, but I am using a regular A-2 card base for my version. I have no idea if this card design has a name, so I will call it a Triple The Fun Fun Fold Card! To keep with the triple the fun idea, I have three cards to share with you. The basic design is the same for all three cards.

Here is the first card. It features the Zany Zebras stamp set found on page 104 of the annual catalog. I call this card Stripes and Plaid. This is the front of the card. As you can see it has a focal panel, but it is not just any focal panel!

The panel opens to reveal three individual sections.  The focal panel is adhered to a mat, and the entire piece is adhered to the front of the card.

OTHER SUPPLIES USED FOR THIS CARD:

*Basic Black card base that is 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”. Another piece of Basic Black that is 3 1/8” square.
*Whisper White cardstock cut at 9” x 3” and scored at 3” and 6”.  Another piece cut at 5 1/4” x 4” for the inside, plus a small scrap for the greeting.
*A piece of Real Red cardstock cut at 3 1/4” square, plus a small piece for the greeting.
*A piece of Plaid Tidings DSP cut at 5 1/4” x 4”.
*Real Red and Memento Tuxedo Black inks.
*A few Real Red Rhinestones or other embellishment. (I used some enamel dotsI had in my stash.)

Here is another sample of the card design. I call it, I Got Your Goat! I used the Way to Goat stamp set for this version. The stamp set is found on page 105 of the annual catalog.

Here are the three sections of the panel.

And here is the inside of the card. I understand this birthday greeting might not be for everyone, but in my family it will get a good laugh. My mother’s birthday was in January, as was the birthday of an older gentleman, Mr. Bright, who was a friend of the family. My mother and Mr. Bright claimed they were so stubborn because they were born under the sign of Capricorn, the goat. They would refer to one another as “you old goat” or “ you stubborn old goat.” I wish they were still living so I could send them each a version of this card. I know they would get a kick out of it. If those near and dear to you might not get a good laugh from the sentiment, you can swap it out for a “happy birthday” or simply mask the “you old goat” and stamp.

I used Stampin’ Blends markers to color the goats. The markers are alcohol based markers, and the ink bleeds through the cardstock a bit. To hide the not so pretty back side of the cardstock I cut two pieces of Coordinating DSP, and adhered them to the back to the first two sections of the focal panel. The third section is attached to the mat, so it is not visible.

OTHER SUPPLIES USED FOR THIS CARD:

*Terra-cotta Tile card base that is 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4” and another piece that is 3 1/2” x 3 1/4”.
*Whisper White cut at 9” x 3 1/4”, scored at 3” and 6”, and another piece that is 3 3/4” x 5” for the inside.
*A piece of DSP from the Ornate Garden Speciality DSP that is 5 1/4” x 4” and two coordinating pieces cut at 3 1/8” x 2 7/8”.
*A small bow made from the Ornate Garden Ribbon Combo Pack - the Terra-cotta Tile.

HERE IS A CHRISTMAS VERSION OF THE CARD:

For this version of the card I used the Warm & Toasty and the Itty Bitty Christmas stamp set.

SUPPLIES NEEDED TO MAKE THIS CARD:

*A Pool Party card base cut at 8 1/2” x 5 1/2”, scored and folded at 4 1/4”, and another cut at 3 1/2” x 3 1/4”.
*Whisper White cardstock cut at 9” x 3 1/4”, and one cut at 5” x 3 3/4” for the inside of the card.
*A piece of Snowflake Splendor DSP cur at 5 1/4” x 4”, and two Coordinating pieces cut at 3 1/8” x 2 7/8”.

*Stampin’ Blends: Balmy Blue (combo), Pool Party (combo), Mint Macaron (combo), Purple Posey (light), Flirty Glamingo (light), Highland Heather (dark), Smoky Slate (light).
*Memento Tuxedo Black ink.

*Stampin’ Seal (or adhesive of your choice), glue dots, and a bone folder.

*A small bow made from Pool Party Sheer Ribbon (from the Whale of a Time Suite), and several of the Snowflake Adhesive  acmes Embellishments.

TO ASSEMBLE THE CARD:

Stamp and image and greeting with the Memento ink on each section of the focal panel.

Color each image with the Stampin’ Blends. Since the images are small do not worry too much about shading. I added rosy cheeks to each critter by making a few tiny dots of Flirty Flamingo on each cheek!

On the back side of the first two sections adhere the 3 1/8” x 2 7/8” pieces of DSP to hide the bleed through of the alcohol markers.

Now fold the focal panel - mountain fold, then valley fold.

Adhere the DSP to the card base, and adhere the Pool Party base to the focal piece.

Adhere the focal piece to the card.

Add the bow and the snowflake embellishments to finish the card. I added a 5” x 3 3/4” piece of Whisper White cardstock to the inside of the card.
