USE SCRAPS & DIE CUTS TO CREATE HOLIDAY CARDS - A STAMP HAPPY HOLIDAYS POST

Hi Stampers!

I have quite a few scraps of Holiday themed patterned paper. I decided it was time to put those scraps to work! I used two layouts, die cuts, some metallic papers, and a bit of bling. I was happy with the results. Let’s take a look:

USE PAPER SCRAPS & DIE CUTS
TO CREATE HOLIDAY CARDS

JOY CARD

This card layout uses 4 rectangular pieces of patterned paper adhered to a mat and card base in colors that coordinate with the patterned paper. Add a die cut Christmas tree or other image and die cut the letters for “JOY”. Add a few embellishments
SUPPLIES
* Card base - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” (Mossy Meadow)
* Mat layer - 5 1/4” x 4” (Cherry Cobbler)
* Patterned paper - 4 pieces of 2 1/2” x 1 7/8”
* Die cuts - focal image and sentiment (Merriest Trees)
* Snowflake embellishments

HOLIDAY CHEER CARD

This card is the portrait version of the previous card. The basic supplies and cutting measurements are the same. Make sure to orient patterned paper pieces in portrait orientation. I embossed the sentiment with copper embossing powder to match the foil inlays in the patterned paper and the copper mat. The card base is night of Navy. The sentiment is from Holiday Cheer stamp set by Waffle Flower. I added a few copper stars for embellishment.

MERRY CHRISTMAS CARD

This layout is super simple but the use of metallic paper really adds some Holiday spirit to the card.

SUPPLIES
* Card base - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4” (Shaded Spruce)
* Mat - 5 1/4” x 4” (Brushed Gold) HINT - die cut an image or images from the center of the gold cardstock - I cut out the background for the greeting from this mat layer.
* Patterned paper - 2 pieces cut one at 5” x 2 1/8” and one at 5’ x 1 7/8”. The 5’ x 2 1/8” piece has an extra 1/4” for adhesive. The two strips are adhered together to form a 5” x 3 3/4” panel.
* Greeting - matted die cut (Holiday Greetings dies from Scrapbook.com)
* Embellishment - (Iridescent Foil Gems)
