For today’s episode of Stamp Happy Halloween I thought we’d take a look at an easy fold card. I call this type of card a box sleeve card as it is scored and folded to form a “box sleeve” similar to the sleeve of a box of matches. Folding the card like this allows it to be a 3 dimensional creation which stands on its own! The back side of the card includes a colorful mat and a panel for stamping a greeting and signing. The card folds by pressing the box s peeve toward the card center. It fits perfectly inside an A-2 size envelope. Let’s take a look at the sample cards:

EERILY EASY HALLOWEEN FUN FOLD CARD
OR TREAT BOX
BASIC SUPPLIES & CUTTING MEASUREMENTS
* Card base - cardstock cut at 11” x 4 1/4” scored at 1”. 2”, 4 1/2” and 5 1/2” - fold (all are mountain folds). Adhesive will go between the outer edge of the cardstock and the 1” score line. Fold this flap inward while folding card at midline (5 1/2” score line). Press flap down to form the “box sleeve.
* Back panel - cardstock or patterned paper cut at 5 1/4” x 4” and light color cardstock cut at 4 3/4” x 3 1/2” or 5” x 3 3/4” (optional)
* Side panels - cut 2 at 4” x 3/4”
* Adhesives
* Other - stamps, inks, die cuts, embellishments, etc, as needed to complete cards
CARDS WITH BOX SLEEVE TO THE RIGHT
To place inside envelope, push the box sleeve toward the left. Carefully slide the card into an A-2 size envelope. ( An A-2 envelope measures 4 3/8” x 5 3/4”.)

- To put in envelope push box sleeve portion of card toward the right. Carefully slide into A-2 sized envelope.

BACK OF CARDFOR TREAT BOX
Create the card and add a bottom to the box sleeve portion of the card to form a pocket to hold a sweet treat!
You will need
* Cardstock - the same color as the cardbase (or a contrasting color) cut at
* Score the cardstock at
* See the diagram below
Put the small box together by putting adhesive on the 4 small tabs and the two mitered tabs. Adhere the small tabs to the back of the mitered tabs. This creates a small box. Carefully insert this box into the bottom of the box sleeve portion of the card once it is in place, take a bone folder or pencil and rub across the tabs to adhere securely.
