I enjoy creating fun interactive cards, especially pop up cards! Today’s cards were created using the Floating Gate Fold Fun Fold. This fun fold is first and foremost a gate fold card, meaning it opens from the center. When the card is opened the images inside appear to be “floating” or popping up. This fun fold is very easy to make, and is sure to put a smile on the face of the recipient.
Let’s take a look at the cards:
Be sure to watch the video below to see how to assemble the Floating Gate Fold Card and learn how to adjust the size of the “floating mechanism” to fit any size image.

TIPS FOR MAKING THE FLOATING GATE FOLD CARD
* Card dimensions and scoring
Portrait Orientation - 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored along the 8 1/2” side at 2 1/8” and 6 3/8” (or score at 2 1/8” from each end); fold the scored lines toward the inside of the card.
Landscape orientation - 11” x 4 1/4” scored along the 11” side at 2 3/4” and 8 1/4” (or score at 2 3/4” from each end); fold the scored lines toward the inside of the card.
Note - it is best to use smaller images on the floating mechanisms when creating this card using landscape orientation.
* Apply adhesive on back of left side of focal panel only so as not to adhere the card closed.
* To determine the width of the strips for the “floating” mechanism, measure the width height of the image area you will attach to the mechanism. This is not the height of the entire image. I find strips of 1/2”, 3/4” or 1” tend to work for most images.
* To determine the length of the strips for the “floating” mechanism, measure the width (at widest point) of the image, add 3” to this number to get the length of the strip.
* Scoring the “floating” mechanism strip - score at 1” from one end, turn 180 degrees and score at 1” and 2”. The length between the sets of score lines will equal the width of your image.
* Before adhering floating mechanisms in place, check to make sure images on the floating mechanism do not go above or below the card base, and check to be sure there is clearance space between the floating images.

Today I want to share a super easy way to adhere multiple die cut, punched, or fussy cut images exactly where you want the for great focal images.
Each of the cards pictured above feature focal images that are punched or die cut. Once all my images for a card were punched out or die cut, I placed them exactly where I wanted them on the focal panel (patterned paper). Once the images were where I wanted them, it was time to adhere the pieces to the focal panel. This requires moving each piece to place adhesive on the back side, and attempting to put the pieces back in place. Sometimes that is more difficult to do than it seems. A super easy way to lift those pieces off the panel, apply adhesive, and put them back exactly the way you arranged them is to use an easy to come by food storage product -Press’n Seal. You can find this product along side plastic wrap in places such as Walmart, Target, and most grocery stores. An alternative to Press’n Seal is washi tape or a very low tack tape; however there is a risk of the tape pulling off some of the cardstock image.
Watch the video tutorial below to see how easy this Press’n Seal technique is, and to view the downside of using washi tape.

A roll of 70 square feet retails for about $3.50 at Walmart in my area (Southeastern Indiana). It is a handy item for your craft space!

Today I have some more one layer cards to share with you. Instead of the standard A-2 size card, these cards are square (card base is 8 1/2” x 4 1/4” scored at 4 1/4”). The card front measures 4 1/4” x 4 1/4”. These cards will fit just fine in the Stampin’ Up!®️ medium envelopes (5 3/4” x 4 3/8”). Let’s look at the cards:
Yes, I included a Christmas card! I know summer is just beginning, but this is the time of year when I begin planning my Christmas card making strategy. For the Christmas card I used the PERFECTLY PLAID stamp set. The floral card was stamped with images from the LOVELY YOU stamp set. The two remaining cards were stamped using the ALL SQUARED AWAY stamp set. All three stamp sets can be found in the STAMPIN’ UP! 2021-2022 ANNUAL CATALOG.

That’ it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by. Until next time...
Pretty cards that go together in no time are perfect projects for busy summer days. When I saw the ALL SQUARED AWAY BINDLE (includes the FLORAL SQUARES DIES), I knew it would be perfect for summer card making! Today’s first four cards are very basic, but colorful and cheery, and a great way to wish some one a happy birthday! Let’ take a look at the cards!
I made these four cards in 30 minutes. It took me longer to select the colors for the cards than the time it took to put them together! The next four cards are slightly stepped up versions of the previous four. It took me about 50 minutes to make these four.
Here is a look at the stamp set:
ALL SQUARED AWAY
And here are the dies:
FLORAL SQUARES DIES
The stamps and dies can be purchased separately or bundled for a savings of 10%. This particular stamp set and dies are great together, but they also are great all on their own!
FOR ALL CARDS:
* Each card begins with a card base that can be either 11” x 4 1/4” scored and folded at 5 1/2” or 8 1/2” x 5 1/2” scored and folded at 4 1/4”.
* For each card I used a Basic White piece of cardstock cut at 5” x 3 3/4” for the inside of the card.
* The floral image is cut from Granny Apple Green cardstock.
* I used two pieces of Basic White cardstock 2” wide by 9” - 10” long to stamp the square background images. I stamped two each of each square background design with Balmy Blue ink.
* The background images are stamped on Basic White with Balmy Blue ink.
* I used Balmy Blue and Memento Tuxedo Black inks. For the So Saffron stepped up card I used Granny Apple Green ink for the sentiment.
* All the focal images are attached to the cards with dimensionals.
The card bases are Petal Pink. The flower images are die cut from scraps of Daffodil Delight and Calypso Coral. For the stepped up card the focal panel is Petal Pink cut at 5” x 3 3/4”. It is matted on a piece of Calypso Coral cardstock cut at 5 1/4” that was embossed using the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Before attaching the focal image panel to the Calypso Coral piece I slipped some Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon around the cardstock and under the focal image, and tied a bow.The center of the Daffodil Delight flowers are Pearl Basic Jewels (the smallest ones).
The card bases are Pale Papaya. The flowers are Basic White. The flower centers are Pearls Basic Jewels (the largest ones) colored with a Stampin’ Blends Daffodil Delight (dark). The stepped up version of the card has a Basic White layer cut at 5 1/4” x 4”. Two pieces of white Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbonare wrapped around the 5” x 3 3/4” piece of Petal Pink.
These card bases are Soft Sea Foam. The flowers are Polished Pink. Their centers are the Pearls Basic Jewels (smallest ones). The stepped up version has a Granny Apple Green layer cut at 4 3/4” x 3 1/2”. The Balmy Blue layer is 3” x 4 1/4”. The greeting is stamped with Granny Apple Green.
These cards have So Saffron card bases. The flowers are Daffodil Delight and Poppy Parade. The stepped up version has a 5” x 3 3/4” Granny Apple Green layer than was embossed with the Ornate Floral embossing folder. The Poppy Parade layer measures 3 5/16” x 4 9/16”. The So Saffron focal panel is 3 1/4” x 4 1/2”.The greating was stamped twice on scraps of Granny Apple Green cardstock. The words were cut apart then adhered to the card focal panel with glue dots. I added a few of the 2021-2023 In Color Jewels (Soft Succulent).
